Rachel Bilson: Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid Dress Designer

flynet

Having Rachel Bilson as your maid of honor comes with some very fashionable perks. The fashionista joined forces with long-time friend and designer Brian Reyes to create four one-of-a-kind silk georgette and chiffon bridesmaid gowns in a soft range of greens for the wedding of her best friend Jill Stonerick to O.C. and Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz. Rachel, who just launched her first line Edie Rose with DKNY Jeans, has been wearing Brian Reyes both on and off the red carpet since he launched his ready-to-wear label in 2004. We think the delicate dresses were perfect for the outdoor ceremony — when do we get to buy one of these for ourselves? Tell us: What do you think of Rachel and Brian Reyes spin on bridesmaid dresses?

Emmys Red Carpet: Brights, Metallics and Retro Beauty Rule!

Jason Merritt/FilmMagic; Frazer Harrison/Getty; UPI /Landov

Looking at the Emmy Awards red carpet tonight, one might think that it was mid-summer with all the bright colors ruling the red carpet. Canary yellow took center stage with Saffron Burrow’s Herve Leroux gown, Mariska Hargitay‘s Carolina Herrera and Teri Hatcher‘s Monique Lhuillier. Shades of aqua and turquoise made a great showing, too, from Christina Applegate to Cynthia Nixon to Mary Louise Parker. And, of course, there were plenty of black and navy gowns on Hayden Panettiere, Debra Messing and America Ferrera. Eva Longoria and fellow Desperate Housewives Dana Delany and Felicity Huffman made a dazzling case for silver accents. And for beauty, retro waves ruled from Kyra Sedgwick to Sandra Oh, and bold red lips turned up on Kate Walsh and more. Click here to see all of the fashion and beauty coverage from the Emmy Awards.

Jaime Pressly Closes Down Her Design Line

Vince Bucci/Getty

With her hit NBC Show My Name is Earl in its fourth season and her 16-month-old son Dezi “all over the place,” Jaime Pressly decided to shut down her “passion project” clothing line, Jaime Collection, she told PEOPLE Thursday. “Before I had the baby, I could do My Name is Earl 12-14 hours a day and have a clothing line. But having three full time jobs, the most important being a mom, something had to give. Obviously, I can’t get rid of the show, and I’m certainly not getting rid of my son,” Pressly joked. But fans of Pressly’s feminine sophisticated aesthetic need not fret. “I’ll do it again some day, I’m sure,” she says. “But with someone else’s money, where I get to design and not worry about controlling the company.” For now, though, Pressly is focused on her son. “He’s speaking Spanglish. He’s adorable,” she says. “He’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done.” – Lisa Ingrassia

Jude Law Sounds Off on Style Heritage and Fashion Hoarding

Dave M. Benett/Getty

Jude Law denies he’s a fashionista, but he sure does know how to rock a tailored suit. At the opening of Bourdon House, the ‘London Home of Alfred Dunhill’ on Tuesday night, the face of the brand paired his navy single-breasted suit with, in his own words “a really cheap T-shirt.” It’s a modern take on dressing up, but he’s a traditional guy at heart, telling PEOPLE: “I think men lost something when they stopped wearing hats and suits,” reminiscing back to tales of his grandfather who would wear a full three piece suit and hat every day to work in his candy shop. “A hat is also something slightly effeminate, the way you wear your hat, it’s very personal — I love the quaint traditionalism of that.” His two sons (Rafferty, 11 and Rudy, 6) stand to inherit more than just their dad’s sense of style, as he’s a self confessed hoarder and has several items in storage for his boys, such as the tuxedo he wore to his first Academy Awards. And then there are some more unusual items: “I keep many clothes from my films. My favorite is my plastic suit from Artificial Intelligence: AI,” confessed the actor. “I kept the whole suit and actually when you look at it, it’s disgusting, it really is a piece of plastic.”

Lindsay’s Newest Enterprises: Self-Tanner and Lower Priced Leggings

Splash News Online

Following the success of her line of skinny, shiny leggings, Lindsay Lohan has announced that she’s branching out into beauty. WWD reports that Lindsay’s brand development company Stay Gold, which created those infamous 6126 brand footless leopard ankle gloves, will soon be giving us the chance to look like we’ve been baking under the L.A. sun — with an odorless, natural self-tanner. And while the two products might seem like oddly diverse choices, they have one thing in common: they’re both loved by Lindsay. The legging-wearing, perpetually-bronzed star defends her decision to move in two directions simultaneously, saying, “Why not? Girls use [self-tanners] all the time. And I do, and it makes sense.” While a new collection of lower-priced leggings is slated to hit stores next spring, Stay Gold has yet to reveal exactly when the bronzer will go into production. Tell us: Did you buy Lindsay’s leggings? Will you get golden with her bronzer?
