Audrina Patridge's Next Gig: Denim Designer!

09/26/2008 at 02:00 PM ET

INF

Following in the fashionable footsteps of her Hills co-stars, Audrina Patridge has inked a deal with Divine Rights of Denim not only to co-design a line, but be the face of it as well. Audrina has already proved that she is more of a jeans and T-shirt type of gal than her fashionista former roommate Lauren Conrad, and she already has a favorite pair from the brand — the skinny “Lust” style in black stretch. Unlike Lauren’s higher-priced line, Audrina’s denim collaboration will likely be more affordable — Divine Rights of Denim jeans normally start at $58. Audrina’s line and her ads will be coming out in November. Tell us: What do you think of Audrina turning designer?

What a cheap attempt to extend her 15 minutes. She’s not qualified to design clothes, anyway. Show me a fashion diploma, and then we’ll talk.

Whoever gets 15min of TV airtime next thing -turns designer. I am sure we will start seeing all those reality show stars shoving their ultra-boring clothes on racks. By the way at this point there is pretty much nothing new that can be created for jeans-all sorts of washes, cuts, pocket decorations and shapes have been put out there by the many well known or not so brands. All you gotta do is just copy something with some slight changes.

She’s got a great sense of fashion, I’m sure it’s going to be great!!! Plus I’m sure she’ll be working with other designers to show her the ropes. You Go Audrina!! Congrats!!!

Hey, who cares about this chic, when are you guys going to throw up the next big star Alina Puscau.
She’s my favorite. Model/Singer… cool combination.

That will be boring. Like her. Who said she has the capability to design clothes?
:S

I mean, what’s wrong with ‘celebs’ lately? Just because they are ‘famous’ doesn’t mean they can desing. It pisses me off, because there are so many great new designers out there that actually STUDIED fashion, or at least have lots of expirience on the field, that should be getting these oportunities! Not some bimbo who had 15 minutes of fame and suddenly got a designing deal just because she’s ‘famous’. Not fair!

I know I wrote ‘celeb’ and ‘famous’ with ”, but she’s not really a ‘celeb’, nor ‘famous’.

I’m soooo over the whole celebrity fashion range. They have no fashion design background and have no input apart from picking a sketch that looks good and adding their name. It must be so frustrating for actual upcoming fashion design students who get sidelined for yet another celeb line.

I’m SO SO SICK of THE HILLS girls!!

But I do think she is the most attractive girl out of them all- so I guess!

i like her style .. but what annoys me is that everyone in this show has to be a designer..couldn’t she just buy stuff not design them??!

Can’t wait!! Love that brand.

Thats All>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> :-)

i studied design, i worked hard, and i have and upcoming bridal line (daniellecicero.com, under construction keep checking in!). It is too bad that people with “quasi” celebrity decide to be designers, and jump on the bandwagon, and make it that much harder for people like me with talent, drive and ambition to get out there, but I relish the challenge and I am not worried.

I love Audrina’a Style! The best on the show if you ask me. I know she will do a fab job with the jean collection!

I agree that all these celebs turn into fashion designers that shouldn’t…..BUT I think she’s just the face and ‘merchandiser’ of the line. They knew she didn’t go to school for it but loved her style and she loved the jeans. They help each other out! I think she’s adorable.

Lexi you is right. I hate that stars can put out clothes without having a diploma or anything. I’m currently in school trying to earn my diploma and it’s just not fair. I HATE CELEBS.
