Victoria’s Secret’s Newest Angel Revealed: Doutzen Kroes

There’s a new Angel in town. Victoria’s Secret has revealed to PEOPLE that model Doutzen Kroes is the newest Victoria’s Secret Angel, joining the likes of Heidi Klum and Adriana Lima, as well as past angels like Gisele Bundchen and Tyra Banks. Born in Oostermeer in the Netherlands, 23-year-old Kroes scored a modeling contract after she sent her photo to an agency hoping to earn enough cash to buy more fashion magazines. Soon the 5′10″ stunner was filling their pages, gracing ads for everyone from Calvin Klein to Dolce & Gabbana. Her first official Victoria’s Secret campaign, Supermodel Obsessions, launches today in N.Y.C. Tell us: What do you think of Victoria’s Secret’s choice?

She is perfect looking, but, why do all of the VS models, seem to look the same? They all have the same hair, same color, same skin tone…they are all very beautiful, but, beauty does not just come with blonde or brown hair and tan skin on a tall, thin frame. Where are your red haired models and paler skin? What are you saying to society, People Magazine? I recognize that red haired people only make up about 6% of the worlds’s population, and, it is this 6%,that you obviously do not represent. I only recall one (1) VS model, in the past, that has had red hair, and that was Angie Everhart. That was a good bit of time ago. All your models are beautiful, but, selection needs to be more diverse.

I think Doutzen is a great choice for a new Victoria’s Secret Angel. She’s got the whole package with her stunning face and amazing body. Definitely a “good investment” for Victoria’s Secret.

Oh and yes she is from Holland meaning she is dutch, not danish. Danish people are from Denmark.

As a Dutch girl myself I am so proud of Doutzen!
She is so beautiful and a real Dutch girl. There probably isn’t one girl in The Netherlands who wouldn’t wanna look like her.

Can’t wait to see her strut her stuff on the catwalk with the other Victoria’s Secret angels. Yup, VC really knows where to get their angels. They don’t disappoint. She could give the other supermodels a run for their money.
