Michelle Obama’s Wardrobe Choice: Her “Hometown Favorite”

UPI/Landov

With all the speculation around Barack Obama’s Vice Presidential pick, we almost lost sight of another important choice — what is his ultra-stylish wife wearing for her speech at the Democratic National Convention? Michelle Obama is relying on Chicago-based Maria Pinto for a turquoise blue ’50s-inspired style in double-faced wool for her prime-time address tonight. Michelle famously paired a sharp purple sheath from the designer with an Azzedine Alaia belt for her husband’s primary kickoff. Katie McCormick Lelyveld, Michelle Obama’s communications director, confirms the choice for the dress to PEOPLE, adding that there was very little doubt as to the choice. “She’s a friend and hometown favorite.” But as any woman knows, there can always be a last minute switch. Tune into the convention coverage tonight to see her final wardrobe choice — and of course, to hear her speech.

I care..it will be great to see a woman as fashionable and undr stated in her wardrobe as Jackie Kennedy was…Twp truly beautiful and talented women in their own right. A wonderful asset to the presidency.

I care what she wears! I’ve been so surprised that critics have liked her outfits. I think they have been horrible.

To the people that write who cares: If you don’t care then why did you read the article?? Obviously you do care otherwise you wouldn’t have read it and commented on it!

Angel

Lets just hope that he does not win the election!!!!!!!!!! You know where all of our tax dollars will be? They will be spent on her ugly dresses and weird belts!!!

April

She’s not Jackie Kennedy, and she never will be no matter how hard she tries.

Has she ever heard of having her own identity?

Katy

To all the haters:

Get yourselves through Princeton and Harvard Law School and then throw stones! I think she’s great and a real role model.

Who is people.com supporting? hmmm….I’ve seen about 12 articles about the Obamas, and ZERO about McCain. Not everyone who reads people is a communist…thanks.
