French brand Roger Vivier is known for their pricey buckled shoes, which can range anywhere from $396 for signature flats to four digits for boots. For the Helpmann Awards this week in Australia, Cate Blanchett donned a pair of limited edition Roger Vivier Limelight America platform heels with sequined star detail and Swarovski crystal buckles. The shiny heels made the rest of Roger Vivier’s heels look downright affordable with a startling $11,000 price tag! We are all for splurging on designer heels, but $11,000 for one pair? That’s our fantasy shoe budget for the year! Tell us: What is the most you are willing to spend as a splurge on shoes?

Cate Blanchett and the $11,000 shoes | ShoeBlog on

[...] People Magazine gives us the scoop on these glittery heels Cate Blanchett donned at Australia’s Helpmann Awards: they are “a pair of limited edition Roger Vivier Limelight America platform heels with sequined star detail and Swarovski crystal buckles.” Wait, that’s not the best part: They cost $11,000! Eleven. Thousand. Dollars. This stinks of a publicity “rental,” to be honest with you–I can’t imagine any celebrity, no matter how addicted to fashion, paying that much for a pair of shoes she’s going to wear only a handful of times in her life. I think that the shoes are pretty, but not $11,000 pretty. GIVE THAT MONEY TO CHARITY INSTEAD! Do you know how many poor people that can feed, clothe, and shelter???? Make the right choice
