Jessica Simpson Adds Dresses to Her Fashion Empire

Hot on the heels of announcements that we’ll soon be able to smell like Jessica Simpson with a spritz of her fragrance Fancy, and slip into her signature undergarments, the singer has just revealed that we’ll also be able to dress like her. WWD reports that the star has inked a deal for a full line of dresses slated to launch in Spring 2009 in department and specialty stores. “I’m extremely excited,” she tells WWD. “I plan on creating beautiful dresses in distinctive fabrics and silhouettes that are reflective of my personal style.” Even if she couldn’t tell the difference between chicken and tuna, she’s turned out to be extremely business savvy. We can already get a piece of the singer through her successful lines of eyewear, purses, jewelry, clip-in hair extensions, bath and body care products, outerwear and footwear — with the shoe line alone estimated to pull in a quarter-billion dollars this year. It seems the only success Jessica has had in recent years is her fashion lines. While I myself would not purchase her wares, I guess somebody out there is. Considering her recent poor reception at Country Thunder, I think she needs to forget about singing (which she can’t do anyway) and concentrate on her fashion lines. Then maybe we won’t have to see her as often!!!

Hey all you haters…I bet you are all broke and dont have even a QUARTER of this girls money..she is successful and her shoes are really cute…I am sure you will be wearing one of her dresses or buying a cheaper brand that follows the same style…she must be doing something right to have all this money.

I personally don’t have any problem with it. I do happen to like her shoes. They make me feel tall. [: Which of course would be her kind of thing, since she's only 5'3.
I don't really enjoy her career turns when it comes to the entertainment industry [pop singer, 'reality' star, actress, country singer] and I do think she has a bad taste in men [John Mayer & Tony Romo?], but I think that her fashion career is really a nice compliment for her. I wouldn’t dress like her outside the shoe department, but I know a lot of people that do so I think she’ll succeed.
