Jesse McCartney's New Role: Bongo Boy!

Bongo has just announced that pop star and actor Jesse McCartney will take on a new role, starring in their fall advertising campaign for Fab 5 Fit jeans — and we have a sneak peek. While celebrity spokesmodels are nothing new to the brand, whose past famous faces include Kim Kardashian, Nicole Richie, Kristin Cavallari and Rachel Bilson, Jesse will be the first man to front their ads. And the “Leavin’” singer — covered in kisses and surrounded by a bevy of women — looks happy to stick around. “There’s nothing better than a girl in a T-shirt and jeans,” he says. “So the Bongo shoot was a dream come true for me!” You’ll have to wait to see the full campaign of print and internet images starting in September, but you can get the look from the ads for yourself even sooner when the line hits stores in August (pop star not included). Tell Us: What do you think of Bongo’s decision to have a man star in ads for a women’s line?

I so don’t get the hype on this kid. I guess he was kinda cute when he was younger, but now? Not so much.

I really don’t like these stupid kids who think they’re talented. Having one of them pose for an ad makes me laugh more than applaud. Basing Bongo on this ad makes me think of fug more than fab.

I don’t like it… it’s selling an idea that we have to look please men… and I am not a fan of that conceited jesse guy..

I think it’s cool that Jesse is moving on and growing up!The hype on Jesse is because he cute and he’ll always be cute!I mean look at that baby face!

I don’t mind Jesse McCartney;; his new single’s pretty good, even if it is overplayed. What I have a problem with is that a GUY is the spokesperson for a WOMEN’s line. And yeah, I agree with Jamie, this is a little sexist. They should get another woman to endorse the line. After all, it seems like they can get a bevy of beauties to endorse the line, so why go for a guy?

He is trying to get out of the “little boy” phase. He still has a cute baby face. IT’s going to be hard for him to be a man in the music business. But it still doesn’t make sense that he is in this ad

I love him! He’s adorable. How is it sexist that he’s the face of a women’s line? What about when Jennifer Aniston posed for GQ? Was that sexist too? I think it’d be more sexist to keep it closed to only women.

I think that bongo made a great choice in having Jesse as a spokes model. They will get tons and tons of girls buying their jeans. He looks so good with the girls and he had fun shooting it too. He is very lucky to be the first male spokes model for bongo it is a great honor.
