Kitson Drops Lauren Conrad’s Clothing Line

Clark Samuels/startraks

Lauren Conrad may be expanding her eponymous design line — recently previewing Holiday, Fall/Winter and Resort collections as well as discussing a possible shoe line — but not everyone is buying it. Kitson owner Fraser Ross has dropped Conrad’s line from his well-known Robertston Boulevard boutique, citing flagging sales coupled with a lack of support on Conrad’s side. Ross tells PEOPLE, “Celebrity clothing lines are a tough sell as it is, and you have to promote your line just as you would an album or a TV show.” And as Ross points out, it’s not that Kitson is inaccesible for Conrad. “Lauren has been on Robertson three times since her clothing line launched but she couldn’t pop by to say hello to the sales staff that sell her line to her fans.” Ross’s advice to Conrad on how to succeed in fashion reasonates to all of her fellow celeb designers. He explains, “You have got to make your clients and customers happy because you are competing against a lot of talented designers in the industry.” Tell us: Have you bought L.C.’s clothing line?

I think she’s a snotty little rich girl.
it’s time to sizzle out and fade away before the debutante ball, barbie.

Nicky

It’s too expensive for the average person. I think it would’ve sold a lot better if it was 1/2 the price.

NO, I would not buy her line. I have seen it. The colors are boring and plain. The lines are awkward. They dont fall right and not flattering on any body type. And while I would never buy cheap clothing (buy cheap–look cheap, there is a noticable difference in low priced clothing and higher priced-ie fabric and stitching) her clothing does not warrent her pricing–not in regards to fabric and stitiching but with originality. Take foley–there stuff is amazing and i own a TON of their clothing because its original. She is simply a young designer that still needs to learn a lot and is about 15 years too young for her to have her own line—she may want to take a cue from mary-kate and ashley’s line elizabeth and james!! and as for kitson–he said the SAME thing about victoria beckham–

Tina,

Lauren Conrad, is that you in disguise…?! Quit posting comments on internet bulletin boards and get out there and promote your clothing line!!

Emily

No way! The items she is holding up in the picture look like they could be purchased at Forever 21 or Target. There is nothing unique about them.

Angelique

Have not bought any….would not buy any….will not buy any. I agree with what those before me have said. Who is she really? Nobody. Whats unique about her clothesline? Nothing? End of story.

Eleni

Overpriced jersey knit? Nah. I’ll get my stretchy rocks off somewhere else for half the price.

I have bought something for her line…simple is better sometimes…but she could come out with more and things that are different too…but she does have some learning to still do as she is still learning what to do in th business too…But then again alot of other started out simple better they got to the point they are at now…she just needs to keep on growing

Josie

Frankly Tina do you really think she does all of this on her own ???
Does type of girls are just looking for attention and anywhere or anything they can put their name on to gain more points in the popularity world they will do it….. !!!!
I can believe you think she does this on her own!
