Sneak Peek: Louis Vuitton & Comme des Garcons Collaborate for Fall

courtesy Louis Vuitton

With everyone from Jessica Simpson to Ashley Tisdale and Uma Thurman adorning their arms with Louis Vuitton’s monogram totes, it’s no wonder the LV logo is so instantly recognizable. But the brand is shaking things up this autumn with a new ultra-exclusive line designed in collaboration with iconic Japanese fashion line Comme des Garcons. Each of the six avant-garde bags puts a spin on classic Louis Vuitton designs — like this eight-armed Speedy. Even if you have the superstar salary to afford one of the limited edition bags, getting your hands on one will require a jet-set lifestyle to go along with it. The collection will available to order exclusively in person at the Louis Vuitton mini-store inside the Comme des Garcons boutique in Tokyo, starting September 4th. Looking for something a little closer to home? You’ll be able to get a more budget-friendly Comme des Garcons fix this fall when the company’s founder and head designer, Rei Kawakubo, takes a turn as a featured guest designer at H&M, designing a women’s and men’s collections in early November. Tell us: What do you think of LV’s latest look? Will you buy from Comme des Garcon’s lower-priced collaboration with H&M this fall?

The ONLY reason to get this bag is to flaunt how much money you have. Gross.

Jan

Only in person? Frankly I’m tired of the exclusivity of this kind of stuff. What… do people actually sit around and discuss the hoops to make people go through to get stuff? Is that supposed to make people extra special? Or the item more special? Well sorry to burst their bubble but I don’t want it more, or yearn for it more just because it’s a limited edition that is almost impossible to get! Same for Nike and their “Back to the Future” shoes. We’re all on this earth to live and die, so I wish they’d just stop trying so hard.

Exclusive?? Yeah right! This bag is ugly and unnecessary. Limited edition or not,I will be ashamed to carry it even if it was for free. Its like those stupid super weird front heeled shoes Marc Jacobs designes and few ‘exclusive’ females were walking around in it.So, did I envy them? Right! I laughed my a*s*s off.

Allie

sounds like u r all JEALOUS!!:P

:S what can you do with this bag? put it on your desk and say “how exclusive is my new LV bag” and that’s just it…

Des

This bag looks like a monster. I did not know this was the actual bag. Yes, I love the designer brands and looks but this was is a MISS not a HIT!

bigwow

The LV bags are all ugly. I can’t stand anything that has a logo plastered all over it. Why is that fashionable?

Allie, you’re right – I am jealous of people who have money to throw away on crap like this. I like to think that if I had that kind of money, I would still recognize that this “super exclusive” bag is ugly as sin. I’d rather donate the money to a charity and actually help someone who needs it.

jane

fugly.

Nicole

The design of this bag is ugly and I don’t care who the designed the bag.
