Mamie Gummer: The New Face of Gerard Darel

Gerard Darel’s luxe bags are already a favorite with the big screen’s hottest fashionistas like Halle Berry, Eva Longoria and Jessica Alba. And now, WWD reports, the French fashion house is snagging one of Hollywood’s up-and-coming actress to represent the brand. Mamie Gummer, lookalike daughter of iconic actress Meryl Streep, will replace Gallic singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, who has been the label’s face since 2003. As much as we love Charlotte, we can’t wait to see Mamie in action. But we want to know what you think. She’s kind of unfortunate looking. Then again, that’s not a very flattering pose to begin with (her nose is accentuated too much).

Personally I think she will make a wonderful model for the line; she doesn’t have the typical model look which is what I think is cool about the choice.

I loved Charlotte in Darel’s adds and I think Mamie Gummer is going to be great too. It’s a great choice, she looks different from the girls we are used to see and she has a beautiful smile!

Mamie is not a classic Hollywood beauty. I assume that she represents a new marketing strategy. After all, Halle, Eva and Jessica are over-exposed.

This is the only picture I’ve seen of her, but she looks prematurely old. I would guess at least mid-40s but I’m guessing they wouldn’t have hired her if she is really that age.

Pour ma part, je suis francaise et je suis contente qu un americaine et surtout la fille de streep qui est tres charmante prenne le relais apres charlotte (notre FRENCH). Ca montre que la marque prend de l empleure cest superbe

I think Mamie will be great at representing the campaign. She seems to be a kind, caring, and warm person. what a great role model she will be!
