David Cook: Love Is in the Hair

Dara Kushner/INF

David Cook is going out of his way to not discuss girlfriend Kimberly Caldwell lately, but for an idea of how serious they are, look no further than his head of hair. The Idol champ is featuring a new hair style after switching to Caldwell’s regular stylist. Caldwell even oversaw the most recent Cook haircutting adventure at the Luxelab in Santa Monica last week. “Kimberly was giving him pointers,” says a source. According to the source, Caldwell sat in the salon chair next to Cook’s, consulting with the stylist and David. “She was very hands on, very involved,” the source says. When not on hair patrol, the pair were affectionate to each other the entire time they were there. “They were pretty lovely-dovey, always touching,” says the source. “Kimberly was picking pieces of stray hair off of his face, and shoulders.” Under Caldwell’s guidance, Cook received a cut and color that was “edgier, darker, and more up to date.” The final result brought a squeal of delight from Caldwell, with the insider saying, “She seemed to be quite happy with the new look.” – Reagan Alexander

Michael Jackson Turns Clothing Designer!

PER/ Fame

Michael Jackson hasn’t had a hit in a while, but instead of working on his next platinum album, he’s turning his eye towards fashion! The King of Pop has teamed up with Ed Hardy designer — and pal — Christian Audigier to launch a new line this fall. Audigier tells PEOPLE of the collaboration, “It’s the merging of the King of Pop with the king of fashion. Something explosive is going to happen.” As for Kitson owner Fraser Ross, who has already committed to carrying the line exclusively at launch, he tells PEOPLE that he has faith in the new line because “Michael Jackson is an international pop icon who has had a huge following throughout his career. I think people will think it’s hip to wear his line. Through all his ups and downs people still love him. He still has a huge fan base.” Tell us: Will you wear Michael Jackson’s new clothing line?

Hockey Star Sean Avery: From Vogue Intern to Guest Editor!

Hannah Thomson/Vogue

Looks like hockey star and Vogue intern Sean Avery is climbing the publishing ladder with remarkable agility, advancing from lowly intern to guest editor at mensvogue.com in just a few short weeks. In an online diary for the site, the New York Ranger gets shirtless in the Vogue fashion closet and dishes about his unlikely passion. “To me it’s simple: I like clothes. Always have,” he says. “I don’t watch sports. I don’t read about sports… Over breakfast in hotels when the Rangers are on the road, I read the Style section in The New York Times.” And Sean, who swapped his million-dollar Rangers salary for minimum wage (for the summer, at least), reveals that money’s not everything, waxing philosophical about the creative reward he experienced assisting on his first photo shoot. “As I watched the shoot progress,” he writes, “I had to wonder: Was the feeling this designer had — the pride of having his creations shot for the pages of Vogue — anything like the feeling I had after we beat the Devils in round one?… Was a young woman’s anticipation of a night on the town in her favorite new dress just a different version of a 12-year-old boy watching his favorite player No. 16 dominate New Jersey in five games? The world may never know — but that’s what I think.” We have to say, we’d never thought of it quite that way — but Sean might be onto something. Get the Scoop on Posh and Becks’s Newest Fragrance Duo

Dara Kushner/INF

You’ve gotten the chance to swoon over at David Beckham’s new Emporio Armani underwear campaign and style yourself in Victoria’s line of dVb jeans — and you’re about to have one more way to indulge in a little Posh and Becks. The couple has announced that in September they will launch pricier follow-ups to last year’s Intimately Beckham fragrances with the prestige fragrance duo Signature for Her and Signature for Him. “I am not just a famous person who is putting my name on different things and doing licensing deals all over the place,” Victoria says to WWD. “Everything I do is true to myself. With the fragrances, I designed the bottles, I got to the factory, I worked on the fragrances. I’m really the creator behind the project. You’re getting a piece of David and me with this.” And she’s optimistic about the success of the scents. “The good thing about fragrance is that it can reach out to many people,” she tells the paper. “My mom might not wear one of my dresses, but she still likes fashion, so she can be a part of that by buying the fragrance.” Tell us: What do you think about the couple’s newest enterprise? Will you buy their fragrances when they launch this fall?
