She is NOT a designer! Neither is Paris, Lauren Conrad, Jennifer Lopez, or any celebrity (other than Gwen Steffani, who can actually cut and sew, but even she has a design team for L.A.M.B.). They do not have the training, nor do they actually source fabrics, create patterns, sew prototypes, etc. They just point to things they like, look at what other designers are doing and they have a whole team of people who create the fashions and accessories. It is getting ridiculous that these celebrities are calling themselves “fashion designers” – they are NOT! There is a whole team who creates the presnetation boards, mood boards, pick out fabrics, etc. that do all of the real work. The celebs just slap their names on the products and pose for the marketing materials. Please people, realize that these people don’t have a clue as to what the steps of product development really are. They just show up wherever their managers tell them to be at!

So, to refuse to acknowledge her design talents, merely because her films and music are shallow, embarrasing, pop-crack, is mean. Yes, this is the most excited I’m been about any of her items. Her shoes are adorable but they all have such high heels. I look trashy in anything over 3 inches so I’ve never bought any of her stuff.

Hire real professional designers to do the work, plop your name on the label and voila! You’re a celebrity designer! Please… let’s just call this what it is: Licensing out a famous name to move a product. As an apparel designer who actually went to school for this and has worked in the industry, all I can do is roll my eyes at all these famous, faux “designers.”

Jessica Simpson is so overly self-confident it is actually a turn-off. Her sister has really stolen Jessica’s show but I haven’t read where daddy has bragged about her bust size! It appears all too obvious that the parents are so much more proud of Jessica and her accomplishments that those of her little sister but the truth is little sis has the best voice and the best bod! She just doesn’t flaunt it unnecessarily, which probably is indicative of her REAL talent and the sad fact that the only talent Jessica really has is to “look sexy!”
