Jessica Simpson Turns Lingerie Designer!

Look out Victoria’s Secret, Jessica Simpson is adding lingerie designer to her lengthy resume. The singer already has successful handbag, shoe, sunglass and swimsuit lines, and now Jessica Simpson’s Intimates will be joining her namesake empire. The collection of bras, undies, sleepwear and daywear will hit major department stores and online shopping sites just in time for spring ‘09. Jessica tells Women’s Wear Daily, “I like different lingerie for different occasions. I think that’s the best thing about it. You can feel sexy or girly depending on your mood.” She also promises to included a stylish assortment of shapewear so women no longer need to worry about panty lines. That sells us! As long as she doesn’t have her dad involved, I might… I think her dad is SUPER CREEPY and I don’t want to help support him! Any father who mentions his daughters breasts is really DISGUSTING!! I can just see the ad now… Jessica bare breasted with her father behind her and his hands covering up her breasts (ala Janet Jackson’s Rolling Stone Cover 1993) saying “She’s got double D’s! You can’t cover those suckers up!” YUCK!!!

While I would be strongly dis-inclined to purchase, listen to, or view any of her music or films, her shoes, clothes and purses are cute, and fairly reasonably priced. So, to refuse to acknowledge her design talents, merely because her films and music are shallow, embarrasing, pop-crack, is mean. She’s like Rain-man: he wasn’t perfect, but he had his special talents. Find beauty where it is and then relax. Play for Peace.
