Would Carrie Approve? Sarah Jessica Parker’s Over-the-Top London Premiere Look

The Sex and the City movie is the cinematic fashion event of the summer — a rumored 81 costume changes for Sarah Jessica Parker alone! And from the looks of the world premiere in London today, the fashions are going to be just as over-the-top on the red carpet as on the big screen. Parker arrived in a full-skirted Alexander McQueen confection and Fred Leighton diamonds with an amazing Phillip Treacy hat, complete with green roses and yellow butterflies. Only SJP — and her celluloid alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw — could even contemplate pulling off a look that involves winged insects and feather trim. We’re more thrilled than ever to see the movie! I am so looking forward to missing all of these images of the women of Sex and the City. The only thing I am looking forward to more is missing this summer’s film. And SJP, stick to the good films like “Smart People” that prove you have talent.

I think she looks awesome!! She can wear anything after playing Carrie. I think it is only fitting that she wear things that “Carrie” would wear.

I think she tries too hard to be unique. That hat looks hedious. I am tired of her – especially when they were on Oprah. She would jump in and cut them off and it wasn’t her turn to talk.

This is SJP promoting Carrie and SATC which has always been about pushing the mark for the sublime and the ridiculous -two very big reasons why we all loved and watched it every week-gosh, give her, the dress and the hat a break!!!

It’s obvious that she has great style, but ‘this’ is just ridiculious…….the dress is horrendous and the hat……THE HAT!…..just tacky.
