The Scoop On Madonna’s Dolce & Gabbana Costumes

Frank Micelotta/Getty

The Spice Girls and Jennifer Lopez may have chosen Roberto Cavalli for their costumes, but Madonna’s return to the stage costumes are custom-made Dolce & Gabbana. The Queen of Pop sported a a black satin tailcoat with pink lining to open her one-night only Roseland show, only to shed it for a black lace top with puff sleeves. Madge continued the show in sexy corset tops and a black nylon vest with “Hard Candy” written in Swarovski crystals. Even Justin Timberlake got into the act, wearing Dolce & Gabbana for their “4 Minutes to Save the World” duet. Expect to see the custom-made pieces for her London and Paris performances, if you haven’t already seen them on the cover of the Hard Candy CD, in the “4 Minutes to Save the World” music video and the cover of Vanity Fair. We think Madge’s Dolce & Gabbana looks are fierce! Tell us: What do you think or her custom-made costumes?

John Mayer’s New Goal: An Authentic ’80s Hair-Do

INF; Everett Collection

The first of the month brings new beginnings, new thoughts — and a new look for John Mayer, who took to his blog this morning. “Today I set off on my newest project,” writes the 30-year old musician, who made news this week after spending time in Miami with Jennifer Aniston. But his newest project isn’t romantic — it’s hairier than that. His goal: “To grow and maintain an authentic ’80s style feathered haircut,” he blogs, further insisting, “It’s something I’ve wanted to do for some time.” He admits to being “very excited to bring this amazing look into today’s pop culture landscape,” noting, “The feathered cut projects an attitude of ease and quiet confidence that seems to have all but eluded our generation. And as my hair grows longer it will serve to become a more stirring and poignant statement.” For inspiration, he posts photos of ’80s hair icons Michael J. Fox, Shaun Cassidy and Kristy McNichol — whom Mayer dubs, “The goal personified.” Tell us: Do you like John’s new ’80s do?

Tim McGraw Explains His ‘Sensual’ New Cologne

Jim Spellman/WireImage

Earlier this week we told you about Tim McGraw’s first-ever fragrance, McGraw by Tim McGraw, which will hit stores this August — and we’ve gotten the chance to chat exclusively with the country superstar about his foray into the world of fragrance. Tim admits that he didn’t know much about cologne until he started working on his signature scent with Coty two years ago. “I didn’t know about notes and olfactory pyramids — they look like the old high school food pyramids,” McGraw tells PEOPLE. “To be able to pick and choose what I liked and combine them was actually turned out to be a lot of fun!” But as involved as he was in the creative process, McGraw admits he couldn’t have done it without a little help from his wife, Faith Hill. “I had my wife’s input. She sat there with me with every sample we had. The hottest woman in the world — I wanted her to like it,” he explains. “I wanted something that wasn’t overpowering. And something that had a very masculine, manly kind of smell to it. But something that was sensual enough for women to like.” And he admits he’s never been a big cologne wearer — until he created his own, that is. “I think it’s something that everyone can wear. My wife loves wearing it, actually. And she likes it on me.” We don’t doubt that one bit!
