Kate Moss Goes Green -- With a Little Help From a Famous Friend!

We’ve been chalking up Kate Moss‘s radiant appearance to boyfriend Jamie Hince, but it turns out it’s actually all thanks to the ultimate rock chick turned eco-beauty junkie Jo Wood. The wife of Rolling Stone rocker Ronnie Wood and founder of the Jo Wood Organics beauty line tells PEOPLE at her Everyday Range product launch how she convinced the supermodel to go organic. “I opened her fridge to see what was organic and there was nothing. I started telling her how important it is for her little girl.” And the mom of five-year-old Lila Grace is now almost 100% converted, including using Jo’s beauty line. “Kate loves the stuff, she loves all the oils,” adds Wood. As for the model’s bright complexion, Wood chalks it up to her new organic food regimen. “It’s amazing she can get away with it. She still likes to have a good party, but her skin looks good still. I told her! You have to look after your skin but it’s what you put in you as well.” So where should an organic beginner start? “Read the labels,” Jo says. “Once you start reading labels then you only want to have things that you understand in your products.” Consider us converted.

My mom is always bugging me to use organic stuff. Help us find good, affordable organics that don’t all smell like lavender and eucalyptus!

Good for her. Maybe she can be a role model for more people to become organic. It makes such a big difference, I have been eating all organic and cooking all my foods from scratch and minimal ingredients for about three years now. I feel and look better than ever!

If she’s so organic and ‘green’, why the hell does she wear so much fur? It makes me sick.

So Rimmell is Organic to isn’t that a line of makeup with her in the commericals?

Courtney on

Dawn: Rimmell is NOT organic what so ever. They are about as green conscience as Cover Girl and thats zero.
I dont buy this Kate going green. If she ditches the fur then I’ll believe she’s doing it for the better of the environment etc. not just maintaining her looks.

Every little bit helps and I’m happy to see Kate is starting to change her ways. Cruelty free is such a good way to be….please Kate ditch the fur now.

Peace to all

its great that she’s starting to wear more organic stuff.
its important to show americans that we NEED to stop relying on china’s economy to get stuff cheap. one day our economy is going to collapse. try as much as you can to buy stuff that is NOT made in 3rd world countries. or at least when you buy them, know that some little kid is making them for you for very little pay. they should be going to school instead, enjoying their childhood, not spending their time and energy making things for US to enjoy.

I am disappointed by people’s lack of critical thinking skills on this issue. What do we mean by the term organic? Just because a brand presents itself as organic does not mean that it is organic.

Would Ms. Wood be so kind as to explain what she means by the term organic. Then we can actually understand what she is talking about.
