Burberry Does Jewelry For Spring!

Courtesy Burberry

They may be best known for their liberal use of plaid on bags, coats and rainboots, but British design house Burberry has undergone a transformation for their Spring/Summer 2008 collection that leaves the pattern almost totally out-of-site. In its place, trendy hardware including metal studs, multi chains and Celtic studs adorns everything from bags to shoes. And even though we can’t all afford to get our hands on that infamous Warrior bag—which starts at $1695 and goes up to $22,000—we can get into the trend with Burberry’s first-ever full jewelry line. The metallic and perspex pieces are inspired by the “luxury warrior” theme that runs through the entire Spring/Summer collection. Necklaces, bracelets, cuffs, bangles and rings made from dark nickel and lacquered black and brass color palettes. Shapes are equally unusual, featuring clean strong hexagonal, square or round shapes. Prices range from $195 to $1595 and are available at Burberry stores and at burberry.com.

What’s the Best or Worst Style Advice Your Mother Has Given You?

Ian West/AP

When it comes to Kate Hudson‘s style, we think of sunshine, flip flops and boho fashion, much like her California-chic mom, Goldie Hawn. Goldie’s laid-back yet stylish look seems to have rubbed off on her starlet daughter, who was recently honored by Elle as a style icon. Goldie seems to be passing along all of the best fashion advice to Kate, but the editors at StyleWatch want to know what words of wardrobe wisdom your mothers have given you? Tell us: What was the best–or worst–style advice you’ve ever gotten from your mother?

Natalie Portman Dishes on the Fab Boleyn Costumes!

Paul Hawthorne/Startraks

We can’t wait to see the Other Boleyn Girl when it premieres in theaters this Friday–and not just because it stars Natalie Portman and Scarlett Johansson. We’re also dying to see the costumes! PEOPLE caught up with Portman at the Alberta Ferretti-sponsored private screening last night, and got the scoop on how it felt to wear dresses fit for a queen. “It was incredible!” says the Ferretti-clad actress. “It definitely makes you feel more regal when you’re in this ‘queen’s wear.’ But there is also the comedic side; you can’t really eat lunch and you can’t fit into the bathroom in your trailer.” Luckily for the film’s female stars, the movie was set pre-corset times. Still, says Natalie, “you’re tied in there pretty tight.” Portman’s off-screen style of late has been just as regal as her character’s. While promoting the movie, the actress has worn everything from Christian Lacroix Couture to 3.1 Philip Lim. Among them all, though, Natalie says her favorite–so far–was a blue lace Rodarte dress. “It was so unbelievable and so delicate,” she explains. “The necklace was beautiful too. It was made out of this mesh material and could be destroyed so easily.” Check out our full gallery of Natalie and Scarlett’s chic Boleyn premiere style here. Then be on the look-out for those gorgeous costumes and more press-tour dresses in the weeks to come!

Beautifully sculpted curls ruled the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards, showing up on lots of our favorite glammed-up stars, including Katherine Heigl and Best Actress winner Marion Cotillard. Actress Zoe Saldana got the style memo and arrived at the hottest party of the evening, the Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar after-party, in long corkscrew curls that perfectly complemented her flowy J. Mendel dress. Find out how to transform your own locks into perfectly piecey curls like Saldana’s, and check out the other top hair and beauty trends from Hollywood’s most glamorous night right now on InStyle.com.
