Get the Look: Alicia Keys’s Retro Glamour

Evan Agostini/AP

Alicia Keys was the picture of glamour at this week’s Gucci-sponsored charity event that raised money for UNICEF and Madonna’s favorite charity Raising Malawi. Dior makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff took inspiration from the retro feel Alicia’s gorgeous red dress to create a makeup look that was both understated and decidedly glamorous. Sheriff started by giving Alicia’s skin a luminous, creamy glow using a base of DiorSkin Airflash in Honey (#400). She then dusted Dior Shimmer Star in Rose along the singer’s cheekbones and browbone. Using a Dior Powder Brush, Sheriff then applied Dior Bronze Essential Bronzing Powder in Healthy Glow all over Alicia’s face to give her skin a rich, radiant finish. To play up Keys’s eyes, Sheriff created a base by applying Dior Eye Show in Undressed Beige, a wonderful creamy champagne color. She then applied 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Sunset Cafe. A sweep of Dior Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Trinidad Black, $25, along her lash line with three coats of Dior Blackout Mascara, $24, added depth. She followed with a pop of Dior Pro Cheeks in Hip Peach, $30. For subtle lips that wouldn’t overpower Alicia’s look, Sheriff chose Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Sheer Rose, $25, a transparent lipstick that gives lips the appearance of fullness.
