Bag a Luxury Beauty Bargain

courtesy vivre.com

As much as we love to try out luxe lines of makeup, a hundred bucks for pressed powder is pretty steep, no matter how much it makes us glow. Our friends at Bella Sugar have come to the rescue by finding one of our favorite brands, Chantecaille, on sale at half off. Blake Lively Dishes on Couture, Costumes and Cocktails

INF

It’s a long way from show choir to the Chanel Haute Couture show in Paris, but that’s just the kind of leap that 20-year old Blake Lively is experiencing now. “I had a normal, all-American high school experience — nothing like the kids on Gossip Girl,” Blake tells PEOPLE, tricked out in a black pleated Chanel bubble dress and long strands of pearly necklaces.”The amount of money the characters have is incredible. The kids on the show drink cocktails at the Palace Hotel; I was eating hamburgers at fundraisers at Fuddruckers.” But she’s totally enjoying the access the show is giving her a scant two years out of high school. “[It's] opened so many doors for me, like coming to Paris to see a Chanel show.” But considering that the show is nearly as famous for its designer costumes as for its steamy sex scenes, a fashion show is a natural place for Serena van der Woodsen’s alter ego. And that’s just fine with Lively. “It doesn’t even seem like a job,” she says. “We’re getting paid to live in New York and wear amazing clothes.”

You Asked, We Found: Jessica Alba’s Cap

Clark Samuels/Startraks

In Star Tracks, Shopping For Two, Jessica Alba is wearing a very stylish hat. Where can I locate a hat like hers? Thanks– Stacie Washington, DC

The mom-to-be was out shopping for her new curves at celeb favorite boutique Harmony Lane this week, where we saw her sporting the cap is the Hat Attack Luxe Yacht cap in grey. You can get Jessica’s hat, $42, at hatattack.com. We aren’t sure about you, but we are pretty excited to see Jessica Alba’s maternity style, especially after getting a peek at a few things she bought at Harmony Lane, like these LinQ hooded dresses in almond, black and navy, $168 each, the La Rock chain doll dress, $258, and the the Tricia Fix Emily mimi dress, $259. Seems like Jessica is taking her cues from Halle Berry, Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie and won’t be wearing any maternity clothes!
