Nothing Gets Between Kate Bosworth and Her Calvin Klein Jeans

Kate Bosworth has gone from fashion plate to pin-up, as the latest cover girl for Calvin Klein Jeans. Announced yesterday, it’s the first global campaign for Bosworth, 25, who up until now has only modeled for Coach in China. The ads aim to feel “clean, pure and simple all-American,” said Malcolm Carfrae of Calvin Klein tells WWD. And despite the fact Bosworth is used to looking stunning on the red carpet, the starlet claims getting in front of the camera can be awkward. “It’s funny, I definitely feel much more uncomfortable modeling because it’s not something I know how to do,” Bosworth told Nylon Magazine. “When I act, I’m not aware of the camera; I’m just there with the actor in that moment. As a model, you’re very aware of the camera. What I enjoyed most about doing this campaign was finding and becoming a certain character. I think working with people like [photographer] David Sims and [stylist]Karl Templer, who want to find and shape that character, instead of simply capturing a pretty picture, is really exciting. So, this campaign was a little bit like an acting job in that way.” From what we’ve seen, we say it’s a job well done.

I think she’s a great model. However, if i’m not mistaken, she was in the Revlon campaign a few years ago.

Kate got this modeling contract because of her Calvin Klein model boyfriend not her weight fluctuations which does say something sad about the world but, just not the common “thin is in” mantra. Sadly Hollywood and the world of the rich and famous isn’t really open to the general public and the concept of true talent it’s all about who you know and who your family is. Just look at the hills. I’m sure there is a young fashion genius who didn’t grow up in a giant mansion that needed an opportunity like that much more and deserved it much more. But that’s just the way the world is, its set up to help the privileged become even more privileged. KAte Bosworth has said herself
“I’d hate to say it, but I’m a blueblood. That’s just the way I’ve been raised.”

Despite that appearance wise I’ve always thought she was a beauty but, she has horrendous fashion taste so I prefer it when others dress her like in this campaign. She seems to have something against classic elegant clothing, she could be today’s Grace Kelley but, so often she dresses like an Olsen twin and that is NOT a compliment.

I think she needs a sandwich.

beautiful, but not edgy

Or.... for Brooke Shields on

I’m sorry, but that’s Brooke Shields’ line…. and there is no other substitute!!!

Kate Bosworth looks beautiful in the new Calvin Klein’s ads. But I don’t think she’s edgy enough to represent the company as a global brand. I would prefer to see Sienna Miller or Kate Hudson, who’s unique sense of fashion add the kind of quirkyness and edgyness you would see in these CK’s ads. Sienna Miller or Kate Hudson would have look fantastic in these ads because of their distinct style whereas Kate is kind of bland and been done to death!

“clean, pure…” – I think they did a great job on this. But I must agree with Natalie that itÄs sad she gets the job after loosing so much weight.

Sorry, don’t know what it is, but I don’t care for Kate Bosworth. Although she doesn’t look quite so skinny here, usually she looks like she could use a few pounds. Not impressed with her acting either but she’s still young. Don’t jump all over me because I don’t care for her, everyone has an opinion and that’s mine.

There’s no doubt that Kate looks good in the ads but I cannot stand the fact that Calvin Klein chose her to represent the so called “clean, pure and simple all-American.” What does all-American mean anyway? It means a white, skinny, pretty, blonde girl? Someone give me a break.

I do not like Kate Bosworth; her acting is mediocre, her weight has been a joke for years… But seeing those pictures… She looks too plain, she’s not beautiful or anything… But I don’t think Kate Moss is pretty either… SO if I had to choose between the two, Kate Moss might be best.
