Roadtest: Target's Comfy Pump

01/07/2008 at 05:00 PM ET

Finding shoes that are cheap, comfortable, and go with everything? It’s the holy grail of footwear! That’s why I love these Isaac Mizrahi for Target pumps. Clean and simple, these black leather pumps are perfect with a pencil skirt for work and dark jeans for a weekend night out. It’s a classic style (not too much toe cleavage), with a stiletto heel that’s just sexy enough. While high heels usually get kicked under my desk and traded for soft flats by noon, I wore these all day — even while running my after-work errands. And the best part? They’re under thirty dollars! Check out for other colors and fabrics.

I have these shoes in every color. They are very cute, somewhat comfortable. However they don’t hold up all to well. Give them a couple of months (if you wear them everyday like I do).

I got these a while ago and they’re amazing! I would have thought a thinner heel meant less stability, but these shoes prove that theory wrong. I was pleasantly surprised because many heels from TARGET’s Mossimo brand that I’ve tried on were really unstable. In TARGET stores they also have these in brown, and online they’ve got an array of colors and materials. At full price they’re $29.99, but they’ve gone on sale for $26.99 multiple times.
TIP: When shopping for a high-heeled shoe, put it on a flat surface (i.e., floor, countertop) and gently tap it; if it wobbles, you will too.

Oh god I wish we had Target here! Well I think I just have to start saving up for a trip to the States :)

I agree with Stacie, these may be comfortable and good-looking enough, but they are still cheap shoes. Don’t buy them expecting to wear them forever.

I don’t think these shoes are that cute at all. If you want to invest in a nice pair of classic shoes to last you a few seasons you should do that and then buy a pair of Insolias to make them more comfortable. They are inserts that make your shoes more comfortable and they are not bulky gel ones that make your shoes too tight. It’s worth getting nice shoes and spending the extra 10 bucks on inserts rather than wasting $30 on something that is not so cute and will probably fall apart.

I bought these shoes a year ago and love them. I can go all day in these and my puppies aren’t aching. It was a great purchase, and I only bought them because they were cute.
