Bono Teams Up With Hard Rock to Benefit Africa

courtesy Hard Rock

Bono has long been both a rocker and a philanthropist, but now through a collaboration with the Hard Rock Cafe, he’s combining the two — and being a designer to boot. The U2 frontman has just become the 25th music icon to create a charity t-shirt for Hard Rock’s Signature Series, which benefits each artist’s charity of choice. Bono’s Fish Can Fly tee, which is produced by his wife Ali Hewson’s ethical clothing line EDUN, features his own design of a fish soaring through the stars and sky. Proceeds from the shirt benefit the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Conservation Cotton Initiative, which helps African farmers escape poverty through land management education, organic cotton growing techniques, and wildlife conservation. The shirts are available in blue on a white background for women and red on black for men. Get one for yourself at hardrock.com and make the world a little bit better while you make it a lot more fashionable.

Mariah-O-Meter: Rate Her Vegas New Year’s Look

London Entertainment/Splash

No one would ever accuse Mariah Carey of not knowing what she likes — especially when it comes to her wardrobe. Throughout 2007, the chart-topping diva showed off her very distinctive style, wearing everything from a short and lowcut LBD to an even shorter bright belted mini. And when it came time to ring in the new year at TAO Las Vegas, the pop princess stuck with what she knows and slipped into this extra-tight strapless micro-mini. While Mariah may be one of the few stars with the figure to pull off super-slinky looks, when it comes to this particular dress, we think that what happened in Vegas probably should have stayed in Vegas. But we want to know what you think. Tell us: On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate Mariah’s New Year’s Eve look?
