As a successful, stylish woman who does use her brains for a living, I'd like to speak out against the sort of intellectual snobbery shown by SpeakEnglish - "real women" can wear whatever makes them comfortable. And, personally, wearing heels to work makes me comfortable. The only time I trade the heels for flats is when it's snowing, so my heels don't get ruined. And this not-so-subtle suggestion that only high heels are sexy is just wrong--look at Angelina Jolie or George Clooney for that matter---neither wear high heels for extended periods--both wear flats most of the time.
