Television’s Secret Beauty Weapons

KC Bailey/The CW; Michael Kauas

We asked the hair and makeup gurus for television’s hottest shows to tell us what products they swear by to keep their stars camera-ready. Lights, camera, action!

–To keep Christina Applegate’s perfectly bouncy spirals on Samantha Who?, head hair stylist, Linda Flowers relies on Marc Anthony’s Strictly Curls Volumizing Styling foam. “It’s long-lasting and easy to use, without leaving hair stiff or heavy,” says Flowers.

–On the set of Private Practice, makeup artist Sergio Lopez-Rivera uses Rosie Jane Cosmetics’ Eye Defines eyeliner in Beech Tree, to achieve Kate Walsh’s clean-yet-sultry look. The secret, says Lopez-Rivera is, “The tip of the pencil is completely flat and perfect to line the inside of the bottom lid and also to smudge on the top.”

–Leighton Meester’s character Blair Waldorf’s perfect matte skin comes from Amazing Cosmetics Velvet Mineral Powder Foundation. Gossip Girl makeup artist Amy Johnston, says this foundation “takes away the shine without making her look too cakey and heavy.”

–To create Dirty Sexy Money characters’ famous post-romp glow, makeup artist Darla Albright uses Bobbi Brown’s Blush in Pale Pink on everyone for a fresh and youthful look.

–When the cast of Bionic Woman complains about dark circles, makeup artist Lisa Love gives them Cellcosmet Switzerland Ultra Vital Intensive Cellular Skin Care Cream. Love claims, “It takes away fine lines and dehydration and you can see the puffiness go away.”
