Stars Come Out To Celebrate Karl Lagerfeld in London

ANG/Fame

Sure, there were models in gold-accented body conscious dresses. But the real scene at Chanel’s Paris-Londres show in London was Karl Lagerfeld, trailed by a butler carrying a tray with a glass of diet Coke. (Meanwhile, fashionistas raved about the canapes — served in trays bearing the famous interlocking “C”s –: duck with fig reduction, foie gras with apple, Laduree macaroons.) But back to the clothes: “That was amazing,” raved Emma Watson (in a black sequinned tank top and black trousers) to PEOPLE of her first Chanel show. “I want it all.” Said a super-slim Lily Allen of designer Karl Lagerfeld: “He’s a genius, isn’t he?” Other guests: Kylie Minogue (who showed her affection for the designer by sitting in his lap), Emma Thompson, Natalia Vodianova, and Vogue’s Andre Leon Talley, who told PEOPLE of Lagerfeld: “He’s the ultimate renaissance man.”

Personally, I prefer female designers because male designers like Karl Lagerfield, Yves St. Laurent and others, these men dress women the way they, as men, believe makes their “waifish” models look think and sexy. I’ve seen some of these models, eg. Kate Moss. Their arms and legs, look very slender, bordering on skinny and that’s what the customers, the buyers for high-end shops, seem to like the models weraring. They think it looks sexy. Part of the modeling industry is the exaggerated swaying of the hips, because no ordinary woman on the street, walks that way. I find it amusing but sad that some of these girls/women, starve themselves to stay thin to keep their contracts and to keep their designers satisfied.
I really like plus-sized model, Emme who definitely follows her own health regime and looks great doing it. Women who design, design in a way that’s completely differnt from male designers. They’re looking for practical but edgy designs that women can feel comfortable in. The modeling industry in general….it needs a complete revamping and those older teenagers….they neeed to eat like us average women do, to keep and stay….healthy.
