Get the Look: Alicia Keys at the AMAs

Steve Granitz/WireImage

Alicia Keys’s makeup artist, Ashunta Sheriff, took inspiration from the songbird’s sexy Giorgio Armani dress to create a “sophisticated, sexy, glamorous” look for her. Ashunta created a retro smoky eye by first drawing a super thick line along Alicia’s upper lashline and adding an exaggerated wing at the outer corner, then lining the inner rim of her lower lid with Dior waterproof pencil in Trinidad Black, $24. Then for a little sparkle, she brushed Dior 1-Colour Powder Mono Eyeshadow in Silverdust, $24, onto her lid and inner corner of her eye. Finishing with a swipe of Dior 1-Colour Powder Mono Eyeshadow in Ready to Beige, $24, on the browbone and crease. And then she added a couple of coats of Dior DiorShow Mascara in Black, $23, for dramatic lashes. To complement Alicia’s dramatic eyes, she went for neutrals on the rest of the face — a coat of peachy Dior Addict Ultra-Gloss Reflect in Lacy Sorbet, $25, and some rosy Dior Blush in Stawberry Sorbets, $34, along her cheekbones. To give Alicia a gorgeous glow, Ashunta brushed Bare Escentuals I.D. All-Over Face Color in Warm Radiance, $18, to her entire face. The look was so glamorous that all she had to do to get her stage ready was add sparkles with Girlactik Signature Sparkle Shadow in Bronze and Gold, $10.

Would You Wear Beyonce’s Rainbow Heels?

Frank Micelotta/AMA/Getty

At Sunday night’s American Music Awards, Beyonce joined country music stars Sugarland onstage for a remix to her song “Irreplaceable” wearing some pretty unbelievable shoes. The ‘Closed Front Cage Sandals’ by Balenciaga go for $4,175 and feature a sneaker-like construction of red, yellow, green, and blue colors (and are available in all black). She’s not the first star to notice them, either. Last month, Kanye West even blogged about the shoes — giving them “The Illest Shoe Award”. They may be attention-getting, but we can’t help but be suprised that Beyonce would break with her normally classic style and pair these cutting edge heels with her J Brand jeans and patent jacket designed by mom Tina Knowles. Tell us: What do you think of Beyonce’s shoes? Would you wear these?
