Stars and Their Fave Designers Heat Up 7th on Sale

Flashpoint / WENN

For last night’s 7th on Sale Black Tie Gala to benefit the CFDA-VOGUE Initiative for HIV/AIDS, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour — along with co-chairs Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Kenneth Cole and Top Shop — brought out the best of fashion, with everyone from Valentino to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen to Kate Moss stopping by for dinner and a ton of major shopping. With donated designer goodies up for sale at heavily discounted prices — everything from Balenciaga bags to baby beds — the 69th Regiment Armory in New York filled with exquisitely dressed stars and their favorite fashion designers. Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa raved of Ashley Olsen (in a clinging white gown by the designer), “She has the perfect body . . .she’s super-sexy.” And Gossip Girl Blake Lively confided of her stunning yellow gown that “Michael [Kors] was so involved. He told me which way to wear my cuff, with the owl facing outwards. Jack McCollough from Proenza Schouler escorted muse (and dessert chair) Kate Bosworth and told PEOPLE that “It’s good to dress friends . . . It’s easy,” while Kate demurred that she “was very lucky to wear it.” But not everyone brought their dress designer as their date — honorary chair Jennifer Connelly brought husband Paul Bettany who drolly remarked on shopping, “I live for it.” For those of us who really do live to shop, make sure to check out the selections from the event on eBay by clicking here.

Eve Gives PEOPLE the Scoop on her New Short Do!

Gregorio Binuya/Abaca; Peter Kramer/AP

New haircuts seem to be the thing in Hollywood this week — first Maggie Gyllenhaal cut bangs and then Elisha Cuthbert showed off a short new do. Eve is the latest star to take the plunge — she arrived at the 7th on Sale gala last night with sexy, short cut that she had done that very morning! The rapper tells PEOPLE “I did it this morning. I just cut it.” As for the motivation behind the sleek new look, she explained “I went a bit shorter, which is different for me. I’ve been long so so long, I was just ready.” But it was a gradual shift to short — the rapper had started the night before but woke up in the morning and told her hairdresser of years, “Juanita, it has to be more.” We think that was a great decision — the short cut suits her perfectly! Tell us: Do you like Eve’s new style?
