A white button down never looked so sexy! Ali Larter stepped out for lunch at L.A. eatery The Ivy looking chic and clean in her white blouse and blue jeans. On further inspection, it turned out Ali’s simple look was anything but — the Heroes star was clad in designer head-to-toe from her Balenciaga button down ($585!) and bag ($2000!) to her Costume National boots ($995!) and Genetic Denim jeans ($200!). We’ve seen our fair share of celebs totally transforming their look with just a simple snip, but that doesn’t mean we’re not still amazed by what a difference bangs can make. And when independent film star Maggie Gyllenhaal worked glam new bangs at last night’s Elton John-hosted opening for luxe jeweler Chopard’s new flagship store in N.Y.C., the jewels weren’t the only things that left us dazzled. We’ve always admired the new mom’s edgy style and love how this new look frames her face. But we want to know what you think. Tell us: do you like Maggie better with bangs? We are so excited about the start of Project Runway Season 4 tomorrow that we leapt at the chance to see the kickoff runway show. With judges Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia sitting front row — Michael Kors was sadly overseas — each new designer showed three unique looks to give us a taste of the what’s to come this season. We loved Jerusalem-born Rami’s Old Hollywood evening gowns, and Chris gave a twist to glamour by adding shrinking hemlines to classic party frocks and paying strict attention to back details. Kit, a Los Angeles stylist, took chic styles seen on the likes of YSL and Dolce & Gabbana runways and added a hard rock n’ roll edge with lots of patent leather and sharp ruffles. Gwen Stefani may have experimented with her beauty routine back in the day — remember her pink hair and braces? — but lately, she’s stuck to a classic ’50s combo of platinum hair and red lips. But until she stepped out this weekend, we never realized how key another element was to her look — her eyebrows! On her way to Christina Aguilera’s baby shower in Los Angeles, Gwen showed off totally bleached out brows (and another great plaid coat).
