Jennifer Connelly’s Balenciaga Outfit: Love It or Hate It?

Jennifer Connelly has never been the kind of actress to shy away from tough roles — or tough clothing choices. We’ve spotted the Reservation Road star in Balenciaga before, even as recently as Monday night. But we were still a little startled by her choice of outfit for the film’s L.A. premiere last night — her fresh-off-the-runway square shoulder Balenciaga dress and woven sandals with gold heels are certainly the cutting edge of fashion, but are these looks better left on the runway? Jennifer told PEOPLE at the premiere that she picked her outfit because “I really liked it. He’s my favorite designer. If she just chucked the shoes, and wore a pair that were background, she could’ve probably gotten away with the dress – which IS pretty awesome.

Oh my goodness! This is the worst combination of patterns that I have ever seen. I’m sorry, but the dress has got to go. As for the shoes, they may look nice with a pair of slacks or even a nice solid color dress.

Poor, poor Jennifer Connelly. Oh dear!

Yikes! It looks like my gymsuit from high school! Only they made this in a more atrocios print! Ours was tan/gold and white. Stripes. Blech. And to make matters even worse the stripes went west/east not north/south! The golden rule here is gym suits look awful and can never be used to make a fashion statement, unless of course you’re breaking the rule and the statement you’re making is “I dress in the dark!”

This can only minimally look good on 1. a clown; 2. a court jester (preferably on a deck of playing cards); 3. drugs! – and only if the one looking is on them!

The dress looks like a reject from the 80′s, when big shoulders were in. Don’t even get me started on the shoes. All she needs is a frizzy wig, pop on a red nose, and she’d be ready for the circus!

She is so incredibly beautiful but she realy does not dress well. I have seen her in so many outfits at &0% are not flattering. Even when she won her oscar her outfit was dreadful, she has a killer bod and a stunning face why why why can’t she class it up like Catherine Zeta Jones or Halle Berry. She would be a forced to be reckoned with on the red carpet and give all other stylish women a run for their money uif she could just try a more glamorous elegant style.
