Paul’s a Proud Papa at the Stella McCartney Show!

FAME

It was a family affair for Stella McCartney as she showed her latest collection in Paris. Sir Paul McCartney sat front row with his other two children, Mary and James, all of them snapping away on their cameras — or iPhones in Paul’s case. Kanye West sat next to the McCartneys while further down the front row was Lily Allen and L’Wren Scott. But it was Sir Paul McCartney who really felt the emotional impact, especially when the show closed with one of his own songs. “It’s always very emotional. . .but when ‘Blackbird’ kicked in at the end, it killed me,” he told PEOPLE as he reached in his pocket misty-eyed. Good job, I brought my handkerchief!” The clothes were soft and feminine, with lingerie elements and floaty, floral dresses in abundance that perfectly complimented to foliage backdrop, made from real leaves and fresh grass. (Ever the green campaigner, Stella will recycle the set by donating to a local low-income housing estate.) Backstage, Lily Allen popped by to congratulate her for a “really, really great show.” Wearing a Dior suit and casual trainers, McCartney’s dad headed backstage but not before a modest confession: “I can’t take any credit except I’m the daddy — that’s pretty cool.”

At a party celebrating her SELF magazine cover, the Suburban Girl star wore an Alberta Ferretti dress with a totally feathered skirt that begs the question — can she sit in that?! Maybe it’s just us, but we can’t imagine wearing a feathered dress. But we want to know what you think! Tell us: Would you wear Sarah Michelle’s feathered dress? Is this a trend you would try?

Want to add feathers to your look? Try this subtle Jennifer Behr headband, $100 at jenniferbehr.com.
