Jennifer Hudson Gets to Work On Sex and the City

INF

We expect large large flower pins and mis-matched patterns on Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex and the City character, Carrie Bradshaw, but when we caught Jennifer Hudson on the movie’s set in these killer plaid boots and handbag we knew it was costume designer Patricia Fields at work. In character as Carrie Bradshaw’s assisant, Jennifer reminded us of Anne Hathaway in the Devil Wears Prada (also styled by Fields). Let’s hope the Oscar winner gets to go through the same chic transformation and we see more outrageous styles on her. Check out more on set looks here and then Tell us: Are you excited to see Jennifer Hudson in the Sex and the City movie?

Beauty Obsession: Pout Shimmer Swirls

courtesy Pout

I first got addicted to UK beauty line Pout with their “Plump Gloss” — then I discovered their Plump Lash mascara and kohl eye pencils. When I heard Pout now had powder compacts for the fall, I had to give them a go — and, of course, I wasn’t disappointed. The Shimmer Swirls are perfect for someone like me who hates to wear too much makeup. The powder glides on easily to brighten the complexion and highlight my post-summer glow. The best part is that I can use the swirls as eye makeup too. Pout’s Shimmer Swirls come in two colors Baked Sugar, a pink lustre, and Baked Spice, a bronze lustre. Get a Shimmer Swirl, $30, at victoriassecret.com.

BF/Flynet; Peter Kramer/ap

John Mayer has been looking so good in his casual outfits of t-shirts, jeans and hoodies lately that we didn’t think we wanted to see him all dressed up — but now that we’ve seen him in his spiffy velvet Louis Vuitton suit at the Save the Music Foundation event, we don’t know which we like better! John Mayer may just be one of those rare guys who looks good in anything, but we want to know what you think! Tell us: Do you like John better casual or cleaned up?

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Brunette! Love It or Hate It?

James Devaney/WireImage; Elisabetta Villa/Getty

We’ve been loving seeing the ladies of Sex and the City filming all over New York (even right by our office) — and we thought the costumes were going to be the most jaw-dropping part until we actually got to see the finished movie. But then Sarah Jessica Parker turned up on the set this morning with dark brown hair! Carrie Bradshaw goes brunette? Say it ain’t so! We just don’t know what to think — we can’t even decide if we like Sarah Jessica better as a blonde or a brunette! We want to know what you think. Tell us: Do you love Sarah Jessica as a brunette? Or do you hate and wish she’d go back to blonde? Can you picture Carrie as a brunette?

Jenna Fischer Defends Her Dress on Myspace.com!

Carlos

When Jenna Fischer appeared on the Emmys red carpet, we’ll admit to some collective head-scratching over her dress. We love Jenna, we love that she was taking care of her back and we love the color — but there was something about it. Turns out that we weren’t the only ones, and Jenna took to her myspace.com page to sort it out for her fans. She writes, “I know there was a lot of controversy about my dress. I ended up on a few Worst Dressed Lists. But, man, did I love it. I know, I know…the bow was as big as my head. BUT…I loved it! It was flowy and silky and…did I mention that I LOVED it! I saw Tim Gunn on the red carpet and he said that he liked it. So, I have that.” Well, Jenna, you also have our support — there’s nothing better than feeling totally great in what you’re wearing and picking a gown because you love is just the right reason.

And Jenna also reminds us that “the new season of The Office starts THIS THURSDAY with a special one hour episode called “Fun Run”. The show picks up 2 months after the finale. You will know everything you want to know after this first episode. It’s great!” Check out the teaser on youtube.com
