Emmys Hair Trend: Pinned-Up Curls

Some of television’s biggest stars got into a retro mood on the Emmy’s red carpet last night. Stars like Eva Longoria, Heidi Klum, Kate Walsh and Rebecca Romijn pinned their long locks up into sexy 1940’s-style curls. The style looks great with the vintage-inspired gowns that were a major fashion trend of the night. We loved how Eva’s ‘do showed off her toned back and Rebecca’s complimented her vintage Guy Laroche — but we can’t help but think Heidi and Kate may have taken the look a little too far. But, it’s still a great break from traditional updos! Tell us: Do you like this look? Would you try wearing pinned-up curls?

I LOVE the pinned-up curls look! I couldn’t tell who had gotten a haircut and who had their hair pinned. It’s a look I would love to try. Kate Walsh’s ‘do looked a little funny, but I thought Heidi Klum’s was gorgeous.

I would love to know Eva’s lipstick shade in this Emmy pic…I love it! Please help….thanks!

Unfortunately, Kate ruined her look with this bizarre, asymmetrical hairdo. Her dress, shoes, jewelry, and makeup were gorgeous, but her hair is just plain weird.

Even though Eva Longoria’s hair looked really pretty, the other ladies, especially Kate Walsh, should have chosen another hair style. We all sat with our jaws dropped when we saw Kate Walsh’s (and her former co-star Ellen Pompeo’s) strange hair styles. Not only were they not flattering, they took away from all of these ladies gorgeous dresses. Overall, most of the Emmy hair gets a thumbs down-someone missed the mark! Even my 18 year old nephew, who thinks Heidi Klum is the “hottest chick” ever was lost when he saw her look. In his words, “She’s hot, but she doesn’t look hot tonight”.

Didn’t Kate Walsh look in the mirror before leaving the house? Her hair was AWFUL! Better luck next time, Kate.

I’m with Rebecca re: hair and Heidi looked fab!

I like the pin-up hairdo, it just has to be done right and make sure it looks nice, especially with my facial structure and it doesn’t make me look awkward. On some of the stars it looked nice and on others the hairdo was all wrong. I liked the look on Eva and Rebecca Romijn, but not so much on Heidi Klum and Kate Walsh. When I was watching the coverage on E! and they were interviewing Kate Walsh, I said, “Nice dress, yucky hair.” I don’t know, the hairdo just looked all wrong on her facial structure, it just looked weird to me. She could have done the pin-up hairdo, just not to the extreme. Her hair just looked fussy and messy. I didn’t like the pin-up hairdo on Heidi Klum neither. I liked her dress, but not her hair. AND what was going on with Ellen Pompeo’s hair? Her hair looked like a rag muffin. Her hair was bad.

I’m wearing pinned-up curls right now. Love them!

I’m in the minority I guess because I loved the way both Kate Walsh and Ellen Pompeo looked. These actresses go to many red carpet events so I like when they do something daring.
