Jennifer Lopez’s Cavalli Party Outfit: Love It or Hate It?

Patricia Schlein/ WENN

Roberto Cavalli brought out some of the biggest names in Hollywood to celebrate the launch of his new Just Cavalli boutique on Manhattan’s famed Fifth Avenue. Though the singer has been enduring grueling days of rehearsal for her upcoming tour, Cavalli favorite Jennifer Lopez joined Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, Diane Kruger, Mary J. Blige, Tyra Banks and more to party with the legendary Italian designer. We hear that Jennifer, who spent most of the party at Cavalli’s side chatting about her upcoming tour, was shocked to see such crowd when she arrived — but probably not as shocked as we were by her outfit! The wide hat may be a runway trend for next spring, but shoes with actual 3-D spikes on them? And our eyes can’t even focus to make out the psychedelic print on her billowing maxidress. We love that Jennifer isn’t afraid to try a new look and is always glamorous — but is this really her best look? Tell us: What do you think of J.Lo’s look? Is it a hit or a miss?

Fall Beauty Alert: Dark Blue Nails

INF

Last fall’s black nails may have fallen out of style, but you’re not ready to go pastel — what to do? You can still go dark with the newest trend in nail color: navy blue. The inky shade has already been spotted on stylish celebs from Eva Mendes to Fergie. To pull off this edgy look, you’ll need to follow a few simple rules. Keep nails short and well manicured — long talons can look Halloween-appropriate dipped in dark blue, and chipped dark polish is best left for punk rockers. To ensure long-lasting color, first apply a good base coat like Creative Nail Design Stickey Base Coat, $7; at ulta.com. Then snag a navy polish like Lippmann Collection Nail Lacquer in Rehab, $15 at lippmancollection.com or the shimmery Revlon Dark Pleasures Nail Lacquer in Midnight Affair, $7 at drugstore.com. Then, seal the color in with a top coat like Seche Vite, $10 at drugstore.com, and you’re set for fall!

Ashlee Simpson’s Hot off the Runway Dress!

Elizabeth Sullivan / Splash News online; Matt Sayles/ap

When we spotted Ashlee Simpson sitting front row at the BCBG Max Azria show last week, we had no idea that she was there with a purpose — getting a hot dress for the VMAs red carpet. But as soon as look 30 rolled down the runway, Ashlee turned to her mother Tina and excitedly pointed it out as a favorite, according to those seated near her. And she turned up only four days later in the chic black dress on the VMAs red carpet! As stylish as the dress looked on the runway, we think Ashlee did it justice with her own sexy style. Tell us: Do you like Ashlee’s VMAs dress? Do you like better on her or on the runway?

Nelly Furtado Goes Blonde! Love it or Hate It?

Splash News online; Denise Truscello/WireImage

Just in time for the VMAs this weekend, nominee Nelly Furtado switched up her look — from brunette to blonde! We’ve never seen the pop star with anything other than her natural dark brown locks, but the blonde is a fresh touch (and not the only star lightening up lately.) We want to know what you think of the singer’s new ‘do. Tell us: What do you think of Nelly’s new color? Love it or hate it?
