Zac Posen Tote to Benefit Teachers

communa-k

Celeb favorite designer Zac Posen has teamed with DHL to create a limited edition handbag, to be launched during New York Fashion Week, to benefit the nonprofit organization, TeachersCount.org, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to raise the status of the teaching profession and provide resources to the education community. The designer’s handbags, which normally retail from $800 and up, are already popular among stars like Rachel Bilson and Beyonce and now teachers can bring some Hollywood glamour to their classrooms. The red and yellow leather tote is everything Zac Posen is famous for: fun, feminine, and glamorous. Get Zac’s bag for yourself or the teacher in your life, $400, for a limited time at toteforteachers.org — and remember, the best part is that 100% of the proceeds will benefit Teachers Count.

I would love one of these. I’ve taught school in California, Oklahoma and Arizona for 30 years ( +). Nice idea…….but who’s going to buy them and give them away to an instructor?

$400 — are you kidding me??? For a teacher??? What teacher do you know who can spend $400 on a trendy tote bag??? Drop a couple of zero’s off the price and then you can call it a “Teacher’s tote”. Better yet — GIVE them to the teachers.
Please… you people are insane.

uh… did no one inform mr. posen that teachers dont make the same amount as models, movie or tv stars, or singers?

great bag, however on a teacher’s salary, someone else will have to buy her the bag!

Broward county is one of the lowest paying county for teachers- we can’t afford $400.00 handbags

I don’t know about American teachers but there are very few Canadian teachers who can afford a $400 bag. Nice try – Zac Posen – but next time you do something to raise money for teachers wouldn’t it be nice if we could actually afford it?

I am a teacher for 2nd grade. I can’t afford $400 for a bag to take papers home in. The most I would pay for that bag is 10-15 dollars. To me, it is not that pretty.

If I had $400 to freely spend on myself, it wouldn’t be on this tote. I spend more than that each year on my own classroom since my district neglects to give materials and supplies necessary to help educate these kids. Get a clue Zac, we’re teachers, not actresses/models.

400. That is not going to happen on a teacher’s salary. Considering what I carry back and forth to school each day it is way too small. Nice gesture but very impractical.

where they came up with “glamourous” is beyond me…all it is is an red leather envelope bag with bright yellow strap. i’m not anti-fashion at all and i think it’s a lot of fun, but a sense of reality (plus the price tag on this one) is a little absurd.
