Maria Sharapova Gets Glam for the US Open

Johnny Nunez/WireImage

You won’t catch this gorgeous tennis champ defending her title in any old polo shirt and pleated skirt. For this year’s US Open, Maria Sharapova teamed up with Nike to design three unique and custom-made dresses inspired by her favorite city, New York. The tennis pro unveiled her favorite atomic red shift that includes 600 authentic Swarovski crystals arranged in the inverted skyline of Manhattan around her neckline with the Top of the Rock’s panaromic Manhattan skyline views behind her. Ever the on-court fashionista, she’ll also be sporting a little black dress with a sexy scoop back for evening matches and a simple white dress for day games. The athlete couldn’t be more thrilled about her designs, saying “Nike has always understood my desire to make a big impression in New York, [and] this year is especially exciting because the designs are inspired by the city itself!”

Jenna

Cute dress but she looks odd in it. And whats up with the shoes?

jenna- r u dumb or something? haven’t u ever seen a tennis player before? they wear tennis shoes to play! she did this press conference thing to show what she would wear to the us open. it would have been weird if she weared anything but tennis shoes. she isnt gonna play tennis in heels! anyways, for the dress, i love it. i love it when tennis players mix it up with their outfits (except when serena does it). she had a really nice outfit last year for it too. im a huge sports fan and cant wait to see maria in the open. GO MARIA
