Get the Look: America’s Pencil Skirts

Mark J. Terrill/ap; Jon Kopaloff/FilmMagic

First we saw Angelina and Beyonce put their spin on the must-have pencil skirt, and now America Ferrera is giving us her take. The Ugly Betty stepped out in a slim-lined Black Halo pencil sheath for the “Hot in Hollywood” event this past weekend. The actress even added another fall favorite — a wide patent belt by YSL. We love the idea of a pencil skirted dress–it saves us from having to decide on a top! And just a few days later, America celebrated her hit show coming out on DVD in a high-waisted Nanette Lepore pencil skirt with a crochet blue Etro top, lengthening the petite star. We love this trend both ways! Tell us: Which look do you like better on America?

Beauty Discovery: Kate In a Jar

Courtesy of Kate Sommerville

After hearing star after star — Kate Walsh, Molly Sims, Kristen Bell — effuse about how much they loved Kate Somerville’s “Kate in a Jar,” I had to try it for myself. And now I understand why they are hooked! The grainy green goo doesn’t look so sexy when you slather it on, but after 30 seconds, you wash it off — and your skin is miraculously smoother, clearer and so much softer. It’s like the ultimate exfoliator, but without being at all harsh on your face. I never really expect sticky New York City summers to do much for my skin, but I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my complexion. And for now, it’s as close as I’m getting to one of Kate’s legendary facials in Los Angeles. Get your own “Kate in a Jar” at katesomerville.com, $85.

Do You Like Becks Better Sporty or Dapper?

Team Beckham/Splash News Online/Anthony J. Causi/Splash News Online

We admit, we think David Beckham looks good in just about anything. He is one of those rare guys that can effortlessly switch between casual street clothes to soccer uniform to designer suits — and still make us swoon in all of it. Though the soccer star usually keeps it casual for airport trips and lazy days, upon arriving to New York City the Brit was decked out in a dashing suit and a man bag! Maybe he was taking some fashion flying tips from his always stylish wife, Victoria. Tell us: Do you like Becks better dressed up or sporty?
