With more denim options than ever out there, it’s hard for anyone to decide which ones to wear. Remember the days when bootcut in medium blue were our only options? These days, you can find your choice of fit — skinny, flared, bootcut, straight, wide-leg, and high-waisted — and the colors look like a Crayola box exploded. Now that the denim Pandora’s box has been opened, we’re seeing everything from skinny to wide-leg. But with denim prices what they are, how many pairs can you try out each season? For fall, we’re pretty excited about newest flared styles which a slight variation on our favorite bootcut and jewel-toned denim looks just right for the cooler weather. But we want to know what denim you’re stocking up on! Tell us: Which of the newest jeans styles are you most excited about? Which ones will you never try?

Want your answer to appear in print? To have your comment considered for the next issue of PEOPLE’s StyleWatch, please INCLUDE your first name and last initial, your age and your hometown/state.

While I’m glad that this fall, anything goes, I will never wear super high-waisted jeans, Lifesaver-colored jeans, or tapered jeans. These styles are not flattering on anyone, in my opinion. I will continue to rock flares, bootcuts, trouser jeans, and low- to medium-rises.

I always love a good trouser cut. Timeless, great fit, also a staple this season. The thicker seaming at the base makes them classier for a nice evening out.
Seven’s black wash Trouser Cut are killer.

liz on

i love skinnies and the high waisted sooooo cute

JenB on

Boot cut. Low rise, but not too low. Nothing baggy, nothing saggy, nothing that shows butt crack or hip bones. Just classic.

I wear skinny or straight leg jeans. I will never wear colored jeans, high-waist jeans, or wide leg jeans. Colored jeans are just plain ugly, high-waisted ones look bad because I have a very short waist, and wide leg jeans are too wide for my petite frame. I also stay away from bootcut.

nk on

Yuck to the high-waisted look. I’ll continue with boot-cut, low-waisted.

Dorothy on

I like skinny jeans and probably I will get one pair of the wide leg-I have one very old pair. The high waist just doesn’t look flattering unless the woman is really tall skinny and long legged.Colored jeans-a bit to funky for me but younger girls can surely explore that look.

Rachel on

I like skinny, flared, and wide-leg. I don’t like high waist or any rainbow colored jeans.

For Fall I like skinny tight jeans at botton because I love jeans tucked in boots. I will not wear high waisted jeans. They are not flattering on any ones figure. I like the jeans Penelope has on. I would wear those if I could find them. I don’t know where to get them.

This fall I’ll be wearing my constant favorite wide leg jeans, but I’ll be updating them with colors. such as red or blue. At 5’9 and a size 13/14, I find that they flatter my figure the best.

i love skinny or straight leg jeans they ROCK

My legs are average so to give the apperance of long, lean legs, I’m all about the lightweight flare leg jean. It’s light material doesn’t add bulk while the flare adds just the length I need.

This may sound stupid, but I’m a total plain jane. I love both light and dark washed jeans with just a slight flare; nice and simple. I also like the skinny leg jean, just not too skinny legged.

high waisted jeans don’t look so good on ladies with a butt, so I can’t exactly wear those. I totally would, ’cause I love the style, but can’t. I love love love love love the jeans Hallie Berry is wearing! Where can I get those? They are gorgeous!

Jasmynne on

whoops that’s not halle berry. Who is that?

Jasmynne on

penelope cruz?

skinny or straight leg. They show off your cute shoes and boots.

it’s kinda hard for me to buy jeans because my behind is a little to big but i’m liking all jeans the best!

I’m excited about higher rise jeans coming back but I dont think I would wear any like Ciera. I know I definitly will not wear any color jeans or skinny. I know that bootleg and wide leg style jeans works for my curvy shape. I love the style of jean in the middle picture what can I get them?

HHMMMM….My favs are low-rise flare or boot-cut…and I love jeans w/ cute pockets that flatter the butt—but it’s really hard for me to find those in longs….so I stick to the classics….and i love love love buckle jeans!;)

…btw: really like Penelope’s jeans here…

As a 40yo mom of 4 with the bottom half to prove it, I like to wear Mid-Rise Straight leg, or a pair with a slight boot cut. Those look best on my body and since I am running around after those 4 kids, they are also the most comfortable. I don’t have to worry about cracks, wedgies or my favorite pair of lacies coming over the waistband.

Anita M. on

I just LOVE jeans all together! BUT, if I had to pick just ONE i’d definately say Skinny jeans.
They totally fit perfect & they go great with a pair of nice stilletos.

Dannielle O on

Definitely faded hip-hugging jeans. You`d never catch me wearing high waisted jeans. And different colors of jeans??? What ever happened to just a traditional pair of jeans? Embroidered jeans, maybe. But colored? I don`t think so.

Emma on

I likes skinny jeaans and always wera it when i go out..

marilyne on

I’ll never wear skinny jeans, they’re not flattering on me. I’ll stick to the low-rise boot cut ones like the lovestory from J Brand

Michelle S. on

I prefer something classic, straight leg, mid-rise. That will never go out of style.

Christine on

I’m loving the wide legged (but not high-waisted) jeans right now – they look so good on most people. Such a nice change from skinny jeans, which only flatter a limited number of body types. I’m not a fan of the bright coloured jeans – it’s like the worst of the ’80’s have returned. What’s next – mullets?

Anonymous on

the 2nd is my favv.
i like the sort-of low rise. but wide leg.
i want a pair sooo. badd. =]

Jenna on

i like boot cut, and low waised. Although my figur is more like the girl w/ the high jeans

gwen on

Loving the grey denim, its very rock star. I’m no stick figure so I stay true to bootcut or straight leg with medium rise. High waists look terrible on anyone shorter than 5’10 or bigger than a size 6, but super low rise is so over (and no muffin tops!)

This fall, I am very excited about the wide range of denim colors! I plan to buy skinny jeans in bright colors like teal and (maybe) fuschia that will pop against my summer tan.

Melissa K on

I love all the denim options out there! It just proves that denim is a way of life. Grey, Skinny, High, Low…they can look great on anyone IF you know how to wear them. Keep at it People Style Watch!

I LOVE the jeans that Penelope Cruz has on!! Where can I find them?!

Beth on

I love, love, love the jeans Penelope Cruz has on….where can I find them?!

SpicyG on

I prefer mid-rise, boot cut or flared but I did buy a pair of skinny jeans last year because I have this hot pair of boots to wear with them. Colors, I don’t think so.

I agree Penelope’s jeans ROCK! We all want to know where to find them or maybe something close but cheaper.

jessica on

i never would wear high-waisted jeans but i do like the flared out jeans and wear them all the time.

Rosie on

I’m a fan of mid rise dark wash to the ankle skinny jeans, I feel they work with pretty much every outfit (whether I’m going for a more dressed up, or dressed down look) & flatter my long, toned legs! =)

Suzanne T., 22 on

I love the new wide leg jeans. I have one pair but plan to buy more! I also really like the new colors jeans are coming in. I plan to buy at least one pair.

JG on

I love the jeans…well, and the whole outfit Cameron has on in the Startracks photo titled LATE ARRIVAL (After spending time in Los Angeles earlier this month, a relaxed Cameron Diaz returns to the East Coast, making her way through John F. Kennedy Airport Monday night).

Tell me where to get it all!!

Themi W. on

Right now I love dark washed straight-leg jeans. They look great with flats and boots and they have a modern feel without being too trendy.

Shayna on

Super low rise, dark or light blue boot cut. Always. Although I did get my fair use out of my dark abercrombie skinny jeans and boots last fall.

gigi on

Since I already owned a few pairs of skinny and straight leg jeans, my fall denim splurge was a dark wash, medium rise trouser style with a widerleg that doesn’t (I hope) overwhelm my smaller frame.

I’m tiny so the high waisted thing does nothing for me but make me look oddly proportioned. Likewise with the wide leg look, never mind the fact they are always 5 inches too long. Nope it’s skinny jeans for me. They make my legs look longer and create curves I don’t have.

TL on

I love Penelope Cruz’s pants in the above pic, what brand are they?

Amanda B. on

I like all styles!!! Girls if your small breasted the HIGH WAISTED jeans are awesome for making your legs longer and your mid-section look curvy, just what women want and … not to mention what guys love.

MK on

I love boot cuts and straight leg in a dark wash. I love skinny jeans (in a dark wash), but the fit has to be just right. In fact, right now, it’s “the darker the wash, the better!”

liz on

Oh god! i love penelope´s, they look so fine, i want them!!!

♥ Summer on

I’m planning on wearing the dark skinny jeans with a flowing tunic top this fall. I think the look is sexy and girly and awesome for dressing up or down. I’m also willing to try the different colored jeans, like red, green, or gray. Can’t wait to be a trendsetter!

CJ on

definitely not high waisted because even Ciara looks bad in them and she is gorgeous. but I like flare or skinny but not colored!

Casie C. on

I am really excited to wear wide leg jeans, especially with platform wedges. I am not too excited about the high wasted version, I’ll still to my low-rise variety.

Fabio on

Boot cut and hipster jeans.
American Eagle jeans are the best

Mz.C on

I have hips and a butt like beyonce so I really think the flared jean look looks better on me and plus it accentuates my beautiful assets

Beth on

Pleeease help me find Penelope’s jeans!!!

Shel on

I never liked the skinnies, but I tried on a pair in cobalt blue with a boatneck top and some flats and it looked pretty chic. I’ll give them a try. I’m not a fan of the high waisted. I think it makes the booty look too long and wide. The bootleg or flares are always a classic!

jen on

I normally don’t think that skinnies look that great, but they are very flattering to me. I am very short and they make me appear taller and leaner. They are too much on taller women. High waisted looks retro mom and colored denim is 80’s. I do wear black denim, however, and many shades of blue.

Ashley on

The jeans I tend to get the most compliments from are Abercrombie and Fitch’s Emma cut jeans (low rise, boot cut). They are my favorites, and I’ll be splurging on two more pairs in a super dark and medium wash for the fall.

People pleeeease tell us who is behind Penelope’s jeans?? They’re a great cut!!

nevin on

the flare is a no-no; the colored one is super cute but yet i probablly wld get it in black or white and the high waist is totally cute!:)

Shorti4life617 on

Well i normally wear low/mid rise flared jeans, usually in a darker wash or with light detailing, but iv’e recently taken to skinny jeans. i have to be careful which ones i buy though, b/c super skinny jeans make my thighs look a mile wide (im not the most fit person in the world, but i most certainly am not overweight, but even so, i have to watch out for the pants that i buy). but a great straight-legged trouser pant never goes out of syle, and is flattering for every shape. I know how pricy most pants can get, considering stores overprice many items, but there are some stores that i know of that are VERY good at saving me money. forst off is a store called Ross, and depending on which one you go to, and if you look hard enough, you can find great designer products for extremely cheap prices. I kno many people are thinking that if you buy something at a cheap price, youre bound to get your moneys worth, but if youre buying the same brands of jeans from the expensive stores at malls, then what would be wrong with the quality? Marshalls and TJMaxx are also great money-saving stores, and their selection of designer jeans is much wider than Ross’s (but they are a bit more expensive).

Kayla on

I love the colored jeans! There perfect! I would tottaly buy some this fall. The high waisted isnt my style and the flared arnt eather, i perfer skinnys.
