Beauty Roadtest: Eyelash Conditioner

Your mother warned you the eyelash curler would break your lashes. Despite that advice, you’ve spent years crimping your lashes into a flirty curl. Well, I finally learned my lesson. No prizewinners to begin with, my lashes were falling out and breaking off. No amount of mascara would make them look much better than a stubble, and I was starting to panic. But then, I heard about Jan Marini’s Age Intervention Eyelash Conditioner, the cult fave of Hollywood celebs. The stylist on Desperate Housewives orders the wands by the boxful. Rachel Ray has raved and Amber Valletta wouldn’t be caught without this miracle worker. Better yet, derm to the stars, Dr. Paul McAndrews, whose specialty is all things hair (as in repairing those bald spots caused by extensions) recommends it. The conditioner is brushed on makeup-free eyes at bedtime — just never with makeup. I wasn’t buying the talk of miracles, but after three months of (almost daily) my lashes are denser, lusher and easier to curl — yeah, that’s right, I haven’t given up the curler either. This product is absolutely remarkable! I had to cut back and only use it a couple times a week because my lashes were getting too long. It really works and everyone comments on my lashes. And it lasts a long time because you really use very little. You don’t want to glob it on at all…it is phenomenal!!

Left Brain on

Don’t waste your money on this dangerous, untested drug.

Are you kidding? I’ve never really seen the need for even an eyelash curler if you get quality mascara. Eyelash conditioners? What’s next? Nose hair softeners!

This product really works! It took me a long time to try it because of the price, but the results have been amazing! Even the areas on my lower lashes where my lashes wouldn’t grow now have long lashes. Everyone I know who uses it has wonderful long lashes and it is especially noticeable on the women who had very short lashes, they are thrilled with the results. If it last six months (my first tube lasted 9 months) that is about the same you’d spend on mascaras that are going to damage your lashes or smear all over your face. The lack of daily maintenance is worth it, I don’t have to spend anytime putting on mascara in the morning and I am never concerned about smudging but I have beautiful lashes that almost touch my brows – a lot of women think I have really good lash extensions. At a pool party recently some of the guys were overheard commenting on how most of the women were too concerned about their “war paint” to have any fun but a couple of us who had left the “war paint” off were singled out as being the women they wanted to be around because we looked good when we are at the pool (or go water/snow skiing) and we weren’t always concerned about how our make-up looked. Getting dressed up and made up is great, but being able to look great without it is fantastic! Besides, if it didn’t work, why would Jan Marini give a money back guarantee?

I want to make sure I go to a legit website, which one do you use? (to buy pure silk amino acids?)
