No, tanning isn’t suddenly good for you, and yes, you must always wear sunscreen. But as points out, there is a way to build a bold base color that’s gradual, sunless and goof-proof: “Build a realistic golden shade over four days with a cream intended for light skin. Color that’s too dark looks patchy as it fades,” says tanning pro Anna Stankiewicz of the Rita Hazan Salon in N.Y.C. After a shower, blend formula into small sections (calves, shins, thighs) to avoid streaks. Repeat with a second layer, avoiding knees, ankles and elbows, adds Stenkiewicz, who’s tanned stars like Jessica Simpson. Try Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer, $8;

I tried the Jergens self tanner. My knees look disgustingly dirty. And YES, I did exfoliate prior to use. It does not seem to matter how well I scrub my knees before hand, they always come out darker than the rest of my leg. The rest of the legs looks like I have a fake tan. Don’t wast your money.

the sunless tanning lotions don’t always work. i like the dove version best the jergens had no change in my skin. but the dove version gave me a normal looking glow. and i think that jessica simpson looks orange because she uses the spray tan from a tan salon but i may be wrong.

I tried Jergens and the fragrance was too strong. The only two tanners that I’ve tried that smell good and aren’t organge are: “Dove Enegry Glow” and “Lacome” Tinted tanning gels for face, legs and body. I am extermely fair and always get compliments on my tan in the summer. Both products are goof-proof.

I’ve used the Jergens tanning moisturizer and it did work; however, the product smells like a self tanner, and made the skin on my arms, shoulders, and chest break out. I would recommend only if you do not have sensitive skin!

I use Jergen’s Natural Glow lotion and love it!! I use it everytime I get out of the shower and it keeps your skin tan but natural looking.

I think all black dresses look good on everybody because they make you look thin. Unless of course your way over weight then nothing looks good.

I’m allergic to Jergen’s products so have never used its self-tanner. I have used Aveeno self-tanners and they are fantastic but there is one problem with them: the smells afterwards are bizarre. It can sometimes smell like you just got out of a tanning booth. I am fair skinned and don’t tan much at all. I’m actually content with my skin tone. I don’t understand the rave about always being tan. My health is more important!
