Katharine McPhee’s Test-Run Tattoo

Fitzroy Barrett/Landov

Have you ever thought about getting a tattoo but just weren’t sure about what to get or how much you’d like when on? Katharine McPhee told PEOPLE at the premiere of I Now Pronounce You Larry and Chuck that she’s been wanting a tattoo but decided to do a test run with a henna design first! The singer confesses, “I’ve been wanting a tattoo. I think sometimes they can be sexy. I went to India Town yesterday, [and] I went to the Hollywood Salon. So I just got some Henna and I love it!” But don’t hold your breath for her to get inked up anytime soon. The soon-to-be-actress may just keep the impermanent style for a little while longer. As Katharine told PEOPLE, “Maybe I’ll just keep doing Henna for a while and see if I like it.” Sounds like a plan to us! Tell us: Have you tried out henna or fake tattoos before getting the real thing?

How Often Do You Buy Things You See Stars Wearing?

Ramirez-Rios/JFX

When Cameron Diaz hit the streets of L.A. in her trendy multi-print dress, we were dying to own it — and so were many of PEOPLE.com readers, judging by how many requests we got to track it down! And it was hardly the first time we’ve had to have something we saw a star wearing, from Eva Longoria’s blue Express dress to Katie Holmes’s Gap shirt — not to mention the countless outfits that we’ve put together inspired by a star’s outfit. But we want to know: How often you shop based on a star’s style? When was the last time you bought something because you saw a celeb wearing it? Does it influence your shopping on a regular basis?

And, by the way, if you want Cameron’s Orion dress, get it at bigdropnyc.com for $115.

Jessica Simpson Debuts Her New Swimwear Line!

Kevin Mazur/WireImage

Not content to just have an accessories line, a budding movie career, and a fragrance in the works, Jessica Simpson launched her brand-new swimwear line in Miami this weekend to a crowd that included her parents and pal Jamie Lynn Sigler. Jessica told PEOPLE before the show that “I might cry tonight because this runway show is such a huge deal for both my mom and I who have designed this line.” The models hit the runway in teeny bikinis and sweet one-pieces accessorized with floppy hats, oversized sunglasses and loose waves (remind you of anyone?) And while the swimwear may have been “all-American girl”, the attitude was totally tongue-in-cheek. As the song “Dirty Laundry” played, the models tossed into the audience mock magazine covers depicting an overweight Jessica and her actual skinny self, with the tagline “Not Okay!!! Weekly July 14, 2007, Jessica’s Dramatic Weight Loss! Drops 100lbs in 6 days.” Jessica tells PEOPLE, “I thought the flier was funny, it was really about my personality. We laugh along with them [the tabloids]. It’s funny, it’s the exaggeration that people believe, or maybe they don’t believe it but they still love to read about it.” But, she assures us, the truth is that “this time of my life is awesome!”
