Stars Love A Bargain Too: Hayden Panettiere's Steve Madden Spree

NATIONAL PHOTO GROUP

Hayden Panettiere doesn’t need to don super-luxe high heels like other young Hollywood starlets. With boyfriend Stephen Colletti in tow, the Heroes starlet hit up the Beverly Center’s Steve Madden store. Hayden is a big Steve Madden fan and scooped up three pairs of his affordable foot wear! An eyewitness says she immediately went for the gold Mixup pumps, $80, which she wore out later that week to the Nickelodeon studios in L.A. Among her other purchases were a pair of red Talli flats, $40 (on sale from $70!) and the Latch buckle boot for $150. Who doesn’t love affordable star style?

So I was going to order some of the shoes from the steve madden website, but they don’t allow returns or exchanges. Does anybody know if they fit true to size? Are Steve Madden shoes comfortable and well made?? Thanks for any advice you guys can give me!

Ooh, I think “Mary” has a little chip on her shoulder. Well I hate to tell you “Mary”, that just because you might be rich, doesn’t mean we all our. How about instead of spending that money on shoes, you give a little to me since you seem to have so much of it. I could definitley use it, and wouldn’t waste it on $150 pair of shoes.

Well isn’t that just grrrrreat for you, Mary! Does money mean everything to you? Sure seems like it, since you don’t seem to be so kind. Oh and btw: I am a 13 year old girl. But that doesn’t mean that I depend on my allowance! I actually have a card business where I hand-make the cards and sell them to people who order them. I’ve make quite a bit of money, but I don’t waste it all on shoes.
Anyway, I don’t like the way her dress is so matchy-matchy with the hat. I think that a hat with some sort of pattern that had the shade of the dress in it would be nicer… I do like Hayden’s shoes though.

Gold pumps in the daytime? Yeeeesh! Dress is cute though. And I like that she’s not rail thin.

The reason why I am supposedly “buggin”? Because I am SO tired of people complaining about how expensive people.com’s “affordable” item recommendations are.

Complaining just makes you sound silly, because it’s obvious that you didn’t THINK about how something that is expensive for some might not be for others. In this case, people.com called Steve Madden shoes affordable because they cost a LOT less than your typical celebrity wear (shoes that cost $500+). Did any of you actually consider this? Affordability is a relative term. Obviously, a single mother on welfare is probably not going to be able to buy a pair, but the average employed American woman would be able to. And for your average celebrity, the shoes would be mere pennies.

Further more, Steve Madden shoes don’t normally cost $150 (unless they’re boots, which makes sense). In fact, I just saw a pair on sale at Nordstrom for less than $40.

I am not rich. I have a steady job and I take care of my finances well. I also happen spend a lot of money on shoes that fit well and look good because they go on my feet, feet that I have walk on everyday. I don’t consider this wasting money, because I value shoes more than other stuff in my wardrobe, like jeans (all of my pairs are less than $25).

So before you complain again, you need to consider that your spending habits might not necessarily represent those of the average person reading this blog.

p.s. Kristen, I wish I could answer your question, but I’ve only had experience with only one pair of Steve Maddens that were unfortunately not well-made and really chafed my feet :(

Thanks for the tip Mary!
