Courtney Love’s Fashion Forgiveness

ANG/Fame

Every girl should be allowed to commit the odd fashion faux pas without too much fallout but when celebrities get it wrong, they always get caught. Remember when Courtney Love wore a fake Chanel Haute Couture dress for instance? Sitting front row at the Givenchy Haute Couture Autumn/Winter show in Paris this week she told PEOPLE that Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld has forgiven but not forgotten. “Lagerfeld is so funny, he actually thought it was hysterical. He photographed me in the real version for Harper’s Bazaar three weeks ago. I laid on Coco’s couch with pearls strategically placed.” Love who has only recently hired a stylist after nine years laughed about her sense of fashion. “I didn’t think couture would go down really well in court so I ended up wearing casual strapless dresses.” Clearly things have changed as the rocker, who performed at the Givenchy party Wednesday night, had on a stylish black suede Givenchy gown and said of the show: “It was fantastic! The black satin dress was amazing and the sequin ones were outstanding. I would red carpet them but I would probably be strangled for even suggesting that!”

Kate Walsh Fetes her Facialist

Chris Weeks/WireImage

When facialist-to-the-stars Kate Somerville wanted to celebrate her new collaboration with The Spa at the Beverly Wilshire, she called on one of her favorite clients Kate Walsh to help her. The redhead, who giggled and grinned when she talked about her fiance, Alex Young, hosted last week’s poolside event, where guests, including Molly Sims and Marla Sokoloff, sipped on mojitos and champagne, nibbled on everything from gazpacho to ceviche, and indulged in hand massages. Walsh couldn’t help but enthuse about her favorite Kate Somerville product to PEOPLE, “Kate in a Jar — that would be it. First of all, it has my name! And secondly it’s just a really great scrub. It’s the best thing. If you just want to look great immediately you put this stuff on, leave it on for a minute and take it off.” But Molly Sims revealed the real reason that she loves her Kate Somerville facials and products, telling PEOPLE “we’re now shooting on HD so the skin and makeup become a big [deal]. You see e-very-thing.”

The Scoop on Kanye West’s Funky Sunglasses

LUKE MACGREGOR/Landov

Remember those amazing ’80s sunglasses that somehow had lines but no lens? Well, apparently so did Kanye West. While getting ready to film the video for his new single “Stronger,” the hip-hop star approached famed glasses maker Alain Mikli with a framed photo of sunglasses we wanted to emulate. And the result? White plastic glasses with no lens that were featured prominently in the video and in Kanye’s performance at Sunday’s Concert for Diana — even the Princes had to take a closer look at them. Sophie Raubiet, General Manager for Alain Mikli boutiques tells PEOPLE, “this collaboration was such a positive experience for both Alain Mikli and Kanye West. It’s officially marked the beginning of future partnerships they are looking to do together.” We can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
