Sarah Michelle Gellar Opens Harrod’s Sale

Mike Marsland/Spotlight Press/Globe

With a string quartet, legions of kilt-wearing bagpipers, and one Hollywood star, the annual summer sale at London super store Harrod’s opened in regal style. Sarah Michelle Gellar arrived by a horse-drawn carriage to the legendary store, showing off her Jasmine Di Milo satin romper. Once inside, the slasher-film star welcomed the bustling crowd of shop-a-holics into the store. “This is a dream come true. I don’t know about you, but I love shopping,” Gellar said to the crowd with Harrod’s Chairman, Mohammed Al Fayed by her side. Sarah Michelle led the charge of shoppers through the bargain-laden aisles before heading up to the Georgian Restaurant on the 4th floor. Gellar’s presence puts her among the star-studded list of glamorous store-openers including Eva Longoria, Christina Aguilera, and Victoria Beckham. But some people weren’t there for the sales; they just wanted to get a glimpse of their favorite vampire killer. “I’m a huge Buffy fan, I can care less about the store,” said Sienna Ali, 20, who ditched work at a real estate firm to get a glimpse of Gellar.

We Love Tent Dresses… But Do Guys?

Photo: Palmberger / Celebrity Photo

The tent dress, in all of its many variations, has taken over our wardrobes. We can’t seem to get enough of how cute and comfy they are, plus they magically hide all of our flaws! But along with hiding our flaws, they hide everything else about our bodies! Just look at Eva Mendes in this Anna Molinari dress — where is her knockout figure? We were wondering what guys thought about this billowing trend, so we asked a few to tell us their thoughts on these puffy dresses. Do you agree with them? What do the guys in your life think of tent dresses?

If a girl is in great shape, it could be real sexy. However, I do miss more of the form fitting outfits, as a girl could do a lot of false advertising with the non-form fitting tent dresses. Form fitting boy shorts and tight tees, now that’s my idea of a hot outfit.D. Wood, 31

My one-sentence summary is that they look like maternity dresses.P. Aber, 27

Tent dresses are ugly in my opinion. I like more form fitting clothes, a nice skirt or even a nice pair of jeans. There is something about these dresses that is very unflattering. It does really look like someone wearing a potato sack with holes into it. J. Yip, 31

Well to be honest I don’t really like tent dresses. From a man’s man point of view, a man doesn’t really care what type of a dress a woman is wearing. All we care is if she’s cute. But fitted clothing is what I’d rather see.T. Zecevic, 26

Would You Wear Paris and Eva’s Cut-Out Swimsuits?

ELIOT PRESS/Bauer-Griffin; INF

As much as we love the classic itty-bitty bikini, it’s always fun to see stars try out a new beach look. The newly freed Paris Hilton left her Larry King interview conservative style behind and put on this ultra-sexy crochet BCBG suit while hitting the surf in Maui. Across the globe in St. Tropez, Eva Longoria donned this cut-out metalic chain suit while cruising on a yacht pre-wedding. Though both stars look flawless in their suits, we can’t help but wonder what funky tanlines these suits would give! We hope both women are slathering on the SPF — especially with a wedding dress in Eva’s future! Tell us: Would you wear a cut-out one-piece like Eva or Paris? Would you be worried about the tan lines?
