Bright Beauty Idea: Avon Instant Pedicure

Courtesy of Avon

Summer is the perfect time for showing off glossy, perfectly polished toes — except if you’re me. Between not wanting to blow my budget on pricey salon treatments and my inability to paint my own toes without smudging, my digits are embarassingly neglected. So when I heard about Avon’s new Instant Pedicure, I had to try it and I was pleasantly surprised by the results. Just match the different sized strips to the width of your toenails, peel enamel from the adhesive and press the color onto your nail. After you smooth out any bumps and tear off the excess, throw on your flip flops and head out the door. I tried “Starburst” for a pretty coral look that lasted longer and chipped less than regular polish, at a fraction of a pedicure price. Buy it at avon.com, $8 in one of eight shades. — Isabelle Miller

Get Hilary’s Little Black Dress — On Sale!

Photo: PHAMOUS/Most Wanted/Flynet

Geren Ford dresses have become a star favorite, thanks to their remarkable ability to go from day to night. We loved Hilary Duff‘s simple black dress with trendy lantern sleeves when she wore it a few months ago (we’ve spotted Carmen Electra in the same style, too!). So we were pretty thrilled to find it on sale online. Check out barneys.com to snag one for yourself! The dress is now $149, marked down from $189 — and it’s available in three colors.

Demi Moore’s Stylish Family Outing

Sylvain Gaboury/FilmMagic

To say the Moore-Willis-Kutcher clan is stylish is an understatement, but we were still impressed with the group’s chic outfits as they supported Bruce Willis at Friday’s Live Free or Die Hard premiere in New York City. Mom Demi Moore and husband Ashton Kutcher looked effortless in their YSL ensembles — even their accessories were YSL! 18-year old Rumer picked up on her mother’s style, wearing a plunging black gown. But our favorite ensemble was 13-year old Tallulah — the chic teen walked the red carpet in a Kate Moss for Topshop dress! Like iconic mother, like stylish daughter. . .

Summer Beauty Essential: Blotting Papers

Courtesy of Rodan & Fields

A fresh glowing face is always in for the summer, but that doesn’t mean that sweaty is chic. Piling on tons of powder in the heat seems so unappealing, so what’s a girl to do? We’re all about using blotting papers to keep our faces shine-free without gooping on more makeup. One of our favorites is Rodan + Fields Unblemish Oil Absorb Blot Papers, $19 for 60 sheets. Just one small square for your entire face does the job with a subtle dash of talc powder, not to mention the nude color sheets are definitely discrete. Other blotting papers we love include Philosophy’s The Supernatural Blotting Papers, $10 for 100 sheets, and Boscia’s Fresh Blotting Linens, $10 for 100 sheets, which are customized by skin type. Tell us: how do you keep shine-free in the summer?

Trend Worth Trying: Smocked Patterned Sundresses

smg/Finalpixx; Cousart-Rilloraza/ JFXimages; BIG PICTURES/bauer-griffin

As the weather gets hotter, we just want our clothes to get easier — and what’s simpler than a dress than can go day to night and requires the bare minimum of accessories? We’ve spotted Eva Mendes, Nicole Richie and Sienna Miller wearing smocked tube-dresses with great bold patterns and long sweeping hems. Just toss on a few bangles, a cool bag and comfy sandals, and you’re set! Dress it up for night time with jeweled flip-flops and an oversize clutch. The best part of these dresses is the smocking — unlike normal strapless dresses that tend to fall, these stay snugly on the bustline. Here are a few of our favorites. . .Tell us: Would you try a smocked sundress?

Get Eva’s Juicy Couture Dress, $198 at neimanmarcus.com.
