The Scoop on Maggie Q’s Red Carpet Hair!

When Hong Kong action star Maggie Q wanted to get glam for all her red carpet appearances for her new film Live Free or Die Hard, she turned to celebrity hairstylist Adir. He gave PEOPLE the scoop on how he created her looks for the New York, London and Berlin premieres. Tell us: Which is your favorite style for the actress?

BERLIN
Going for a “young and fresh feel”, Adir actually started the look the night before, applying deep conditioner to her hair. On the day of the premiere, Adir started by parting Maggie’s hair in the middle and drying it with a huge 3 inch round brush and Fekkai straightening balm. Once dry, Adir went over her hair wiith an ionic flat iron and finished with a Fekkai Glossing Cream on the ends.

LONDON
Adir wanted to create an “old Hollywood” look to complement Maggie’s Versace gown — the result a side-parted updo. Adir used Fekkai instant volume spray and dried the hair around a round brush, then curled random pieces with a thick curling iron. Secret tip: before putting her hair up, Adir created traction for the updo with Fekkai for Men Groooming Clay.

NEW YORK
This time, it was about a modern Brigitte Bardot. After drying the hair with a round brush again, Adir wrapped sections of Maggie’s hair on the outside of a curling iron, making sure to tug on each piece after curling to relax the curl. To finish the look, he pulled out a few tendrils around the face and finished with Fekkai Glossing Shine Mist.
