Jessica Simpson already has a beauty empire with her successful Dessert Beauty collections, but she hasn’t had an eponymous fragrance — until now. The singer-actress has just inked a deal with fragrance giant Parlux to launch a signature scent in July 2008. In a statement released to WWD, Jessica explains the partnership. “I wanted to partner with a company that would be able to express my personality in a fragrance.” The scent will not only join Dessert Beauty, but also Jessica’s existing accessory collections and her upcoming sunglasses, swimwear and lingerie. No, Beyonce hasn’t turned into a rocker, but she did go for metallic in a big (and weighty) way at last night’s BET Awards in Los Angeles. She hit the red carpet in a stunning one of a kind crystal gown from Dolce & Gabbana, topped with a metal corset belt that an insider tells PEOPLE “weighs a million pounds!” She then changed into full C3P0 robot mode for a performance of her hit song “Get Me Bodied” — eventually, the robot shell came off to reveal a metal bra-let and mirrored gold leggings that seemed to be a little bit easier for booty-shaking. And Beyonce added a little bit more metal by the end of the night. The singer won two trophies for best R&B Female and Video of the Year, for her single, “Irreplaceable”.
