Beauty Obsession: MAC Tendertones

Courtesy of MAC

I love the mirror-like shininess of a gloss, but I’m not a fan of the downsides that go along with it — like the sticky texture that attracts stray hairs like a magnet and sucks all the moisture out of my lips. But just wearing a matte lip-balm isn’t always the right look. Luckily, M.A.C has allowed me to have my proverbial cake and eat it too (it tastes deliciously like kiwis and strawberry) with their fantastic new hybrid glossy-balm, Tendertones. It protects and moisturizes lips with linoelic acid, lipids and SPF 12 but also leaves a slickly shiny finish. Pick up one of the nine flattering sheer shades at maccosmetics.com for $15. — Katie Dickens

These are pretty much the best things ever. They are super soft, and stay on your lips for hours.
I bought the colour “Purring” and it’s very sheer, like all the others, but gorgeous nonetheless.

I always have problems with my lip gloss. I would absolutely love to try this product, however, I just couldn’t spend $15 on that itty bitty portion of gloss!!!!

I totally agree with you Ashley. The bottom of the tub is like a freakin inch thick!! If you apply your gloss a few times of day, everyday, it may last you 3 weeks. I think I’ll stick to Lancome Juicy tubes for $16!!!

This sounds like a great idea, but I hate lip glosses in tubs! I prefer glosses in tubes or ones that come with wands. I’m stuck on Clinque’s “Air Kiss” and The Body Shop’s “Shade 02″ Liquid Lip Colour!

I actually own the orange color, which is very sheer…it looks very pretty w/different lip-liners underneath. The only problem is that the ‘pot’ is really heavy(i think its glass), you can feel the weight in your pocket and your purse…it would be terrible if it shattered if/when you drop your purse on a hard surface.

glad

ohh they look really nice but im not gonna spend that much money on a product that only gives you soo much…

Like everyone else, I also had issues w/ spending 15 bucks on a small tub of gloss, however I am obsessed with MAC and have never been disappointed w/ any of their products (though I often am disappointed by cheap drugstore brands) so I shelled out the cash and am very satisfied. The color “Pucker” is perfect (not as bright as it looks) and as mentioned above, Tendertones do stay on for a long time so there’s no need to constantly reapply.

I too went out to buy them when they first came out and I absolutely love them. I have Hush, Hush and it is very sheer but looks good over my NARS Matte Lip Pencil. I didn’t even think twice about the price because I love MAC so I knew the product would be good. It also didn’t feel too heavy in my purse. They are a limited item so I am going to make sure that I get another one before they go away.

i loooooove lip gloss and the super shiny parts but if you keep stray hairs away and your bangs short then you wont have a problem and you wont have to pay 15 dollars for just a little bit
