Revlon Colorstay is a very drying lip color. I tried it once and it dried my lips instantly.. I would not reccomend it to anyone. Loreal’s lipsticks are hydrating though. And The Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds are veeery hydrating. And karlals, if you need sheer moisture, just get a pot of Blistex lip Medex for 1.99:)

I used to work at Target guest services–I actually don’t think it’s a written rule, but open/used cosmetic returns are allowed. Even if you don’t have your receipt, you can always switch for a different color. Most drugstores and Sephora also allow open/used cosmetic returns as well.

I’ve been debating if I should try these or not, but after reading the other comments, I think I’m going to try Revlon’s new colorstay sheers. I’ve compared the descriptions of both products, which sound similar, and I don’t want my lipcolor to feel gooey after an hour- gross! Love that Blistex lipfusion though…but I have to reapply it pretty constantly.

Little known fact: CVS and Target will give full refunds (with receipt) for OPEN and USED make-up. Don’t ask me why and I can’t even remember how I learned this (though you can find it hidden in customer service on their websites). I’ve done it at both stores and nobody cares. So feel free to try colors and return the ones you don’t like!

I sampled this lipstick recently too and was amazed at how long it stayed on – normally I don’t even bother with lipsticks as a professional can’t even get them to stay on longer than 15 minutes, but this lasted a few hours without drying. The only thing is not being able to test the colors in the store as it’s not a premium line, so I’m out $8.50 before I know if I like the shade. Annoying!

i cant wear lipstick, i stick to lipgloss with color or just plain vaseline…so funny bc i though i was the only one who needed to have my lips moisturized 24/7…i always carry a chapstick with me !!!

I just bought this lipstick this weekend in “Blushed” and I love it. While I didn’t experience the cooling sensation that is mentioned, I did find it very hydrating. And the color, although a little “frostier” looking than I would have liked, stays on quite a long time.

i’m with karlals. i think that an obvious glitter or supershiny lacquer finish (like those maybelline “wet shine diamonds” ads–yuck!) are really distracting and inappropriate for the office. i think the only people who can get away with that look are teenagers. when you get into your twenties and beyond you tend to graduate to “shimmer.” but to each her own—

personally, i am a huge fan of bert’s bees beeswax lip balm. i use it alone or on top of my lipstick for a nice cooling effect, which i believe comes from the peppermint oil in it.

and i hear ya summy, i can’t stand having dry lips either!

I will be trying this. I am obsessed with lipsticks. I believe I am OCD when it comes to having something on my lips, even if it’s simple vaseline, I can not have dry lips. I can’t wait to go buy this now!!!!!!!!

I also bought this lipstick in “clear” and was disappointed to find that it had a glitter finish (I’m 28 – I do not need glitter on my lips during my work day) to it as well as being somewhat gooey after being on my lips for an hour. It was very hydrating and the cooling sensation was nice, but the look was not good for me. I’m sticking to my ancient tube of Revlon colorstay with a top coat of Blistex Lip Infusion Moisture Splash. It’s the only thing I’ve found that looks as good as it feels.
