Jason Lee Turns Shoe Designer

05/10/2007 at 11:00 AM ET

Long before his name was “Earl,” Jason Lee was a champion skateboarder, and in honor of his youthful roots (and his successful skateboard line, Stereo Sound Agency), the actor has teamed up with Etnies to produce the Etnies & Stereo Jetset Collection. With some of the shoes featuring interpretations of Lee’s photographs, including this pair with the L.A. skyline, he says that he sees the shoes as “canvases essentially. . .Which is great that companies like Etnies are doing that, because ten years ago, that kind of stuff wasn’t really happening. There weren’t really collaborations between skaters and shoe companies. No one saw drawings, or photographs, or writing on shoes.” And while it remains to be seen whether his son Pilot Inspektor becomes an actor or not, he’s already following in his famous father’s footsteps — Lee tells PEOPLE that “I’m getting my son into skateboarding now also. He’s good, real good.” Click here to buy your own pair on Zappos.com, from $40-$64.

Whats so designer about skateboard shoes? Nonetheless, Lee’s shoes are pretty cool.

I dig the slip-on model. More and more we are seeing a resurgence of slip-on shoes. From Converse to Vans and even some designer brands are working slip-ons into their lines, Camper and Ben Sherman just to name a few.

neither, if you want good quality skate shoes to last and are good, go for eetihr lakai, fallen, emerica, or es. you would probably be like an 11.5 or a 12 depending on how loose or tight u like your shoes. but probly an 11.5 since your used to basketball shoes. check out these sites for skate shoesskatewarehouse.comactivemailorder.comempiremailorder.comccs.comxtremez.comskateamerica.compacheapskates.comusually theyll have some nice shoes for around 20-30 bucks. to make sure on size, I’d download a foot size chart from one of the above sites or go to a local skateshop and try some on.
