Isaac Mizrahi's Bridal Line for Target

05/05/2007 at 11:00 AM ET

The past few years have yielded affordable bridal collections from some of our favorite stores — Ann Taylor, J. Crew, even H&M — and now Isaac Mizrahi is bringing his signature style to a bridal collection for Target! Available only online at target.com, the line will include bridal gowns, bridesmaid dresses and accessories for men and women, all for under $160! And of course, the line is chic enough to be worn to a cocktail party, black tie affair or even prom. Mizrahi says of the decision to make a bridal collection, “My bridal gowns are all reinventions of the classics, providing an affordable alternative for women everywhere. I put a lot of design energy into designing this collection for Target because every bride deserves to find the gown of her dreams, regardless of her budget.” We couldn’t agree more – who doesn’t love cheap chic?

Oh my gosh…I went to the Target web-site and entered Bridal dresses and some very beautiful dresses came up. I was very, very impressed. I think some of the BIG designers are getting away from all the beads & poof a little this year. The dresses look very smart & stylish. I would purchase one.

No offense to anyone but I’d never buy my wedding dress at Target! You need a beautiful luxurious dress for your special day. For some people it only comes once! Those dresses are really blah and boring! They are to plain and look like they might fall apart any minute. They look like there made with ok fabrics but I seriously doubt it!

Both dresses look very simple and elegant. I agree, I don’t believe many people would want to shop at Target for a wedding dress. However, both dresses look very classic at such a good price! The one on the left is my favorite, but would look better if accessorized with a great necklace and earrings. Affordable wedding dresses are great if others are above your budget.

I think those are lovely! I just would wonder about sizing, since they are only available online so you could not try them on first. Bridal sizing is so different than normal clothing, that would be a challenge. As a girl who really likes more simple, basic gowns, the styles sound like they’d be really great!

I love the first dress, if you put some beading and lace on it, you could end up with a beautiful dress for a low price. Sounds good to me!

I don’t like it at all! But hey, what do you expect! It is TARGET people!

I’m going to be getting married at the end of the month and went to David’s Bridal and everyone at the store was rude. Actually I went to 3 stores in different cities and they all seemed like I was wasting their time and an inconvience; I’ve also heard similar comments from other brides. Also, their overpriced dresses seems to be made out of camping material. I think the Target dresses look simple and smart. Plus, you can always take the dress to be altered to a number of places; you just have to look in the phonebook. I would have considered a dress from them, but they just came out too late.
